Recipe Directions

  • 1. Add all ingredients into your blender. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  • 2. Pour mixture into a pie pan. Smooth out with the back of a spoon.
  • 3. Cover and throw in freezer. Ideally should be frozen overnight to firm up so that it can be sliced perfectly.
  • 4. This raw chocolate cream pie recipe should always be kept in the freezer. (It'll get soggy if in the fridge.)

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

This is a crustless pie, which means it's that much quicker to whip up since there is only one step!

If you don't do honey you can do agave nectar or maple syrup instead of the honey. Use the same measurements.

This recipe does include bananas for both sweetness and creaminess, so it does have a slight banana taste, but it's not over-powering, especially if you use bananas that are at the peak of perfection.

Another fantastic and very easy recipe -- even better on day 2 and 3. We used Whoopie Pie molds (got ours from BB&B). The recipe was the exact amount to fill 12 molds. We froze overnight. Removal was simple by wetting a spatula... transferred to a sealed container and stored in the freezer. Absolute perfect-sized dessert topped with any kind of berry. Thank you, again!

Hi RawGemGypsy!

Great question - in this recipe, either solid or liquid is fine. Because it's going to get blended well in the blender and warmed, even if it is solid it should warm up and liquify during the process! (Ideally, liquid is best, but I wouldn't bother melting it first since it should melt when blended.)

Hey Laura-Jane, sounds good this recipe! I have all ingredients at home, just not bananas. Would using avocado instead for creaminess be okay as well?

Loved it. Absolutely delishy and super easy to make. Next time I will add less lemon (it overpowered a bit). I used dark choc instead of cocoa powder since didn't have any. Thank you!! I am in love with your recipes.

Due to tree nut/peanut/coconut allergy in my family, I need help making this chocolate cream pie recipe? I would like to replace coconut oil with olive oil and how important is cashew to the recipe. I can eat sunflower seeds

Not my most favorite TRK recipe but it is easy, tasty, great texture and looks great. I'm going to try the avocado substitute to try to bring the sugars down.

Didn't dig the flavor? Too much banana? Inquiring minds want to know :)

Laura Jane, Not sure if it's too much banana or lemon juice or what but for sure none of it went to waste! I do love having a healthy dessert already made in the freezer. I'll update you when I experiment with it next time.

Would macadamia nuts work in this recipe in place of cashews?

Hi Rachael - yes, macadamia nuts are one of the only nuts that you can use instead of cashews (they are both super creamy) (pine nuts could work too, but they are SOOOOO expensive)

Re: honey, you can use a low glycemic sweetener, like stevia if you can do stevia.

Re: replacing banana, it's used for both sweetness and creaminess - so some nice avocado would do instead if you can eat avocados.

Hope this helps, Lauren!
