An energy bar that I derived from Kim Wilson's book, Everyday Wholesome Eating In the Raw. Anytime you are experiencing an energy crisis, have a ball or a bar!

Recipe Directions

1. Place almonds into food processor with S blade and grind into a meal texture.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and process into a dough type mixture.

3. For bars, press the dough into an 8×8 inch pan and sprinkle with extra coconut, if you would like.

4. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before cutting into bars.

5. To make energy balls, roll dough into 16-24 balls and roll each ball in coconut.

6. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

I don't taste the green magma powder. It does make the energy bar look green. It is suppose to be good for you. I works great for the non dehydrated bar because the heat may deactivate the barley.

I loved them. I try not to make them because I found myself eating them all the time.

I gave credit to the author of the book. If someone puts it on the website it does not mean that they should get the credit if they did not make the recipe.

Hi joesc,

Usually when you take a recipe from someone else's website it's customary to give credit where credit is due. The original can be found at:

Wow, these are just like some raw bars I purchased in a health food store, only better! Been looking for a recipe for bars like this. Love them!

Spirulina will work just fine. Just be careful not to take too much,- I find spirulina to have quite a strong taste. I've gone for 2 teaspoons when I've made them.

I wonder if Spirulina would be good instead of Barley Green or Magma/

I have not used Barley Green or Magma Powder. Are they just a dehydrated green powder? Does it give the energy bar a veggie flavor? I am going to make them just wondering if the 'green' powder I have will work.
