I am trying to get into green smoothies. The only leafy green that I had in the house was organic romaine lettuce. So, this morning I gave this a whirl, and was pleasantly surprised!

Recipe Directions

Put the romaine leaves in the blender with some water. Blend until there are no more little green pieces floating. I slowly add the water. Then put in the pineapple chunks and blend away. And then the banana goes in and gets blended. I just like to add each ingredient separately to blend thoroughly. You may have to add more water depending on the consistency that you like.

This was SO YUMMY! You received the honor of providing me with my first Green Smoothie, and what a wonderful thing it was! lol, I had it for breakfast today, and I've not had this much energy in a LONG time - with no coffee or anything! Thank you so much for this great recipe - I will definitely be using this again! lol (I'm excited about my smoothie this morning, can you tell? :D)

I think that's the brilliance of green smoothies - start with a blank green canvas (romaine, spinach, kale, etc) and then just start adding colors to the canvas :)

This is better than you think. I tried something like this with shredded coconut and it was way too thick to drink! I also made one with way too much beet! Don't put watermellon and kale together- you get brown mush! Congrats!
