I stumbled upon this idea last night when I noticed Brazil nuts are a perfect fit inside dates, seem to belong together, and woohoo! That’s all I can say! I am so proud! Measurements below are estimated. I eyeballed. I will update if necessary when I make more. I had two batches last night, so I don’t know when that...

Recipe Directions

1. Depending upon your kitchen tools, you may want to powder the nuts first.

2. Otherwise blend (or in magic bullet) the dates, nuts, salt, and a few splashed of reserved soak water, adding more when necessary.

I had two batches last night, so I don’t know when that will be, haha.

Use on anything! I even threw a tablespoon or so into the freezer, and this morning it was caramel ice cream!

Take that, Häagen-Dazs! ;)

Man, Yana this is simply great. I messed around with adding the vanilla, walnuts instead of brazil, a beauty of a 1/3 mango with just a taste of cinnamon. Whoowheee!

I luv these quickie sweet fixes!!

Hi, Yuna! Welcome, and that's quite funny about the names!! I would love to use vanilla beans but they are quite expensive.

It was wierd seeing Yana and my name is Yuna! hehe! anyway, my raw organic vegan idea for vanilla is organic raw vanilla seeds. They're perfect. You don't need extract. You get them by buying organic raw vanilla beans and cutting them open and scraping the vanilla seeds from inside. They blend in very smooth and flavorful with anything. I like to use them in making raw chocolate bars. So good! Another idea is to buy the seeds already scraped and preserved in a glass air tight jar but that is expensive and can we put links? i just got here today- this site looks heavenly and i'm getting all sorts of ideas to make everything i want quickly, organic, raw and vegan and preserved well. another idea i used to use is to buy organic raw vanilla beans and snip them into small pieces with a sciccor and grind them in a cheap coffee bean grinder for vanilla powder! It works like vanilla seeds but the vanilla bean powder i grinded i could only get so powdery myself so i switched to using the seeds. However, the outer bark tastes like vanilla just like the seeds and maybe someone will come up with a way to grind the whole vanilla pod as powdery as flour- which would be even smoother than vanilla seeds for raw chocolate bar making. But i used to use that vanilla powder i grinded myself in ice cream and as flavoring instead of vanilla extract all the time. :)

You may also choose to add some vanilla, I am waiting for my hfs to get me some organic alcohol free extract, I expect it will give it that extra kick
