Recipe Directions

1. Add the liquefied coconut oil to the cacao powder and stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy like chocolate sauce.

2. Then add the agave and taste. If you want it sweeter, add more (I like it a little bitter).

3. Pour a thin layer (about 1/4 inch thick) of the cacao sauce into the bottoms of 6 silicone muffin tins (You could probably use a metal muffin tin as well and just grease with coconut oil).

4. Add 5 raspberries (or more) to each candy and put in the freezer for 10 minutes. Then pour the rest of the cacao sauce over the raspberries and pop back in the fridge for another 5 or 10 minutes.

Abbeycamp's Thoughts

My amazing little sister came up with these, and they are fantabulous!

Eat immediately or store in the fridge so the raspberries won’t freeze.

Sorry to post again but it was too funny. My roommate had one of these and was like, "This is a collective victory for the household, especially after the bread debacle." Which was where I tried to use the oven as a dehydrator and... well it didn't work and we had to open all the windows.

Oh man, I just took the chocolate from this recipe and poured it into a rubber heart shaped ice cube mold, then I stuck a macadamia nut in the center. Chocolate covered macadamia nuts! My grandma used to buy a cooked version of those when I was a kid. These raw ones were really good!

And so cute, all shaped like hearts. I have a feeling that I'm going to be making a lot of chocolates using this recipe soon...

I have found not all coconut oil brands are created equal. I used Garden of Life for a while and every time my husband would come home (was cooking with it at that time... not raw), he would have a fit from the stink in the house. I switched to Pure Planet coconut oil, which by the way HAND PACKS their GLASS jars of coconut oil to eliminate the heat from the automatic packing machines, he never said another word. He said it 'doesn't stink'! I love the Pure Planet coconut oil for eating, and I love the Tropical Traditions coconut oil as a moisturizer... it's like silk! But the Tropical Traditions coconut oil has a strong 'coconut oil' taste, which I prefer not to have... if you like a strong coconut oil taste, you'll like it.

You can liquify the cacao butter in a bowl in a dehydrator really easily too! It works like a charm.

Coconut oil does NOT go bad in the pantry. I keep mine in the pantry. I don't know about that funny aftertaste, could be expired?

I made this treat last night and it turned out so beautiful and I got so many kudos that I took a picture of it that I'll post. I also accidentally made macaroons while I was making this, so I'll include that in my next post too. Thank you!! I love this!

does anyone know if coconut oil goes bad in your pantry? It does not say anywhere (that I saw) to keep in the fridg., but mine have a funny after taste. It smells fine, but I do not want to ruin this great looking dessert.

BTW - To liquefy coconut oil put it in a glass jar and place the jar in a bowl of hot water and stir until it melts.
