Recipe Directions

1. In a small mixing bowl, mash ripe bananas.

2. Add in tahini. Stir well.

3. Add in cacao and agave nectar. Stir again.

4. Put mixture either in freezer or ice cream maker, if you have one.

5. If you are using the freezer, be sure to mix this every 30 minutes or so to get the right consistency.

6. If using an ice cream maker, just sit back and relax for about 20 minutes. Whether you’re using the freezer or ice cream maker, if you’re adding nuts, add them in towards the end.

Oh, yes. It tastes like a banana split.

All mixed together so your mouth doesn’t have to do the work.

Ripe bananas with chocolate and walnuts. Oh my!

My mix didn’t freeze all the way in my ice cream maker. It could be because of the tahini, but I put it in the freezer, and it’s more of an ice cream consistency now. :)

I imagine this would be so much fun to take to a party or get together. If you made some kind of a coconut whipped cream and put some cherries on top, oh lord.

Or you can go completely wild, and make a separate batch of strawberry ice cream and eat these paired together! That would wow them, for sure!

Whatever you do, enjoy!

Wow I must be dreaming. But please tell me there's an alternative to tahini......I've given up nuts and seeds. Megan, this sounds really awesome. I have a whole bunch of ideas for a raw sundae like this.

Awesome! I have enough coconut butter left from my jar that it would be perfect for this! I used to LOVE nuts/seeds, but I got too many stomach problems too! Yes, let's talk soon!

Angie - Your welcome, I hope you try it!

Forrestlyone - I figured that out today..I've been weary of tahini and bought in on a whim a few weeks ago. Didn't have many ingredients, and I came up with this simple and delish recipe!!

RawKidChef - YOU'RE DREAMING! Just kidding. I'm sure that coconut butter would be a PERFECT subsitute, if not far better. That would have been my first pick for ingredients, but I didn't have coco-butter on hand. I've been thinking alot lately about your fruitarian diet..and how nuts/seeds have been affecting me lately. Even though this ice cream tastes delicious, it's really upset my stomach. Everytime I have almonds now, my stomach hurts...same with every type of nut or seed. It brings my energy down, makes me look SO tired in the morning...etc etc. Ok, I'm so glad you joined the site! We'll talk more on that :) Talk soon!

This sounds great!! For some reason, Tahini can make a lot of healthy things taste naughty.
