Recipe Directions

Blend the water, blueberries, and sweetener till smoooth in a blender. Then add the rest of the ingredients. On the second blend, be careful to press the lid of the blender firmly over the pouring area to prevent splattering.

RawKidChef's Thoughts

By RawKidChef

This is my favorite smoothie, in fact, it’s one of my favorite foods. I just love the combination of icy cold sweet blueberries – and the bee pollen, which can taste very bitter depending on your tastes, is so sweet and adds so much great flavor. It is also great to bring around on a hot day.If you are worried about whether bee pollen is vegan, it is actually more vegan than honey, because it is created using the bees’ legs versus the mouth, which is how honey is made. Feel free to use a vegan raw sweetener instead of honey, if desired.

I'm feelin' the blueberry love. I have raw honey, but have not ventured onto bee pollen. Is it still great if I skip that part?

My local co-op has bee pollen...I didn't know it was a complete protein! That's crazy! I only heard about it from juice feasters...this looks delish!

Yum! Blueberries are fabulous! Thanks for sharing!

I know it's off the topic, but I've just got to say that blueyz has such a beautiful icon. It looks like a elegantly ethereal Goddess. Absolutely lovely.

I have bought bee pollen from local apiary that sells honey, etc at local farmers markets. If you are in the US, try local harvest website to find some near you.

The bee pollen is high in Vit B and all other sorts of goodness!

Khass Ladki: Yes, it is actually recorded the most nutritious food on the planet, having a complete protein and therefore is a superfood. You can buy it at a health food store in the supplement section, order it online at www.naturalzing.com, or a supplement store like the Vitamin Shoppe. I use granules or powdered form.

lzhpt: Yes, of course it is still great without it! You may want to add an extra tablespoon of honey, as the bee pollen does add some sweet. Though, the bee pollen does add a great flavor, I suggest you try it sometime!
