Recipe Directions

1. Core and slice the apples into eight pieces.

2. Put slices in a large bag and toss to coat with juice. Add spices and toss.

3. Lay on dehydrator (with air circulating, not a Teflex sheet) and dehydrate 3-6 hours until warm, soft and sweet.

These sound great. My son needs dehydrated fruit for winter camping and he says plain dried apples taste like cardboard. Let's see how he likes these.

Vanilla powder-ah,heaven on earth. Powdered vanilla bean, basically. I have bought it from mountain rose herbs and living tree community, both fantastic sites. Not sweet but very fragrant and makes everything better-especially cookies and smoothies!

Oh yeah, when I read "baked apples" this reminds me of Cherie Soria's Apple Baklava dessert. Yummm!!!! It tastes cooked without dehydrating!
