Recipe Directions

Directions:

1. Soak flax seeds in water for 1 hour or more.

2. Process all other ingredients in the food processor until smooth.

3. After seeds and water have become gelatinous, add to food processor along with the puree'd mixture and process for 30-45 seconds

4. Spread batter onto Teflex trays and dehydrate on 105 until completely dry (18-24 hours) depending on thickness of the cracker.

5. The crackers can be used to make sandwiches, eat along with raw "cheese", and dips.

I currently have a slight variation of these in my dehydrator right now. I sure hope they work. This is my second time trying a cracker recipe because the first one didn't work. I hope these do because they smell sooooo good. Not gonna lie though, the gelatiny flax seeds were kinda creepy looking. They did spread easier then the last batch. My last batch weren't flax based but almond and were hard to spread and crumbled pretty badly.

I know exactly what you mean. I stopped eating raw burgers because of that taste. Yuck! You'll like these. They have a creamy taste to them- like a mayo type of flavor so you don't even miss the mayo. Weird huh?

I hate the taste of dehydrated ground flax too so I've been avoiding all flax. I will make these tomorrow. You've convinced me. Hope I like them.

you'll really like these. I used them to make an ELT (eggplant bacon, lettuce, and tomato) and Talk about Good! Oh my goodness! Check out the recipes on my blog for eggplant bacon

I'm going to try this substituting cilantro (one of my favorite flavors) for the parsley. For those concerned that green peppers are unripened peppers, consider using a yellow, orange or red pepper.

ItVeganAtGenesis, thank you for this beautiful recipe. I feel reasonably certain that the 1/4 dried sage and 1/4 dried thyme powder refers to 1/4 tsp. You might want to edit the recipe to clear up any confusion.

If you haven't tried flax crackers yet, you're in a for a real treat; I mean a real treat. They are delicious! I don't like the taste of dehydrated ground flax which I have been avoiding, but these are whole flax seeds so they are incredibly delicious and very savory.

They weren't hard to make at all; So, those, like me, who thought that making flax crackers was a difficult task you'll soon learn that it's only adding one mixture to the other and dehydrating. The flavors are endless! I'm going to attempt "

"It's Not Cheeze Its" next :)
