Raw chocolate fudge in 1 minute
Posted in: Raw Chocolates, Balls and Candies, Raw Nut-Free Sweet Recipes
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons coconut oil
2 teaspoons honey
Directions
1. Throw the ingredients in a tiny bowl.
2. Grab a spoon and take the bowl back to your TV.
3. Mix it together while you're watching TV because it can take a little while to mix properly, especially if your coconut oil is hard. It'll look really dry at first, but don't add any extra anything. Just go with my measurements and mix it together slowly and carefully with a spoon. Within a minute you'll get the texture seen in my above pic.
4. Enjoy!
This raw chocolate fudge is really sweet so you don't need much of it to get a nice hit of sweet chocolate flavour. This recipe reminds me of my tiny raw halvah recipe, actually, since they are both tiny sweet snacks you can pull together very quickly.
The Rawtarian's Thoughts
Picture this... You've just had dinner. You're watching TV on the couch. Your non-raw husband pulls out a little chocolate bar beside you, and you wish you could have a little taste of chocolate too. What do you do? You run into the kitchen and make my 1 minute raw chocolate fudge, that's what!
It's so quick that you can do it in a commercial break, and...it only requires three ingredients.
You'll notice that this is makes a very tiny serving size, so you'll want to make it in a tiny bowl so that you can stir it properly against the sides of the bowl. I use little tiny custard bowls.

just had my first try of this one...yummy and most importantly easy! Am doing lots of research on raw eating..1 week into eating mostly raw - and love your site Laura-Jane for its simplicity. The hard part will be changing my childrens tastebuds...but this is a winner - my 12yr old has just made her own bowl after big tastes of mine! Next will be the lemon slice.. thanks Laura-Jane :)

Try the brownies and icing if you haven't yet, they are usually a hit http://therawtarian.com/raw-brownie-recipe/

Hi Laura,
I love your site and what you are doing.
Please consider that there are alternatives to honey and that for many, it is not seen as being at all, a vegan food.
You seem like a kind and lovely gal and it is my responsibility to myself and to all other creatures to speak up when i find these opportunities:
Veganism is a way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, the animal kingdom, and includes a reverence for life. It applies to the practice of living on the products of the plant kingdom to the exclusion of flesh, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, animal milk and its derivatives, and encourages the use of alternatives for all commodities derived wholly or in part from animals.
Thank you,

Hi Darryl,
Thank you for your empassioned response. I commend the respect you have for animals.
I do agree with you that honey isn't vegan. However, a while ago I made a personal decision to stop using processed agave nectar in favor of local honey that is collected in my neighbourhood.
That being said when providing my recipes think that you are right that I should be providing a honey OR alternative sweetener in the same recipe. The main honey alternatives that I'm aware of are agave nectar, stevia powder, maple syrup (not raw) or dates.
What is your preferred honey substitute?

I made this fudge this morning and tried it as soon as it was made and thought it was delicious. However I then rolled it into a log between greaseproof paper and cut off pieces and refrigerated for a few hours and OMG I think I've died and gone to heaven, it is now the best fudge I've ever tasted. Soooo good.

Dear Laura:
Your website is really great. Thanks for sharing. Adding to the comment above from Darryl Whalen from Seattle. Honoring true and complete veganism is avoiding the inclusion of anything animal in any way, shape, or form or from any derivative. But for this particular recipe, the fudge is a raw recipe rather than a raw vegan fudge receipe. Laura, if you had the time or wanted to include additional information for this recipe, you could include a vegan substitute note for the honey as a sweetner. But from what I can tell from your website, the focus of your website is on easy-to-make raw food recipes.

Thanks so much for these recipes. Second time I have made this. And I use a little less cocoa powder. Feels like I am being "bad". But I ran the nutrition info. on calorie count website - said it's only 157 calories and a little less than 12 grams of sugar for the whole thing. Everyone who craves chocolate should try this!

Last night we couldn't get her off of your site and now she's coming up with many ideas as to when she can make your raw treats. She is currently making the fudge and she cannot wait until the final product, don't add more... patience... stir.... eat.

Is date-syrup a good option for honey or agave or maple syrup? I dont use honey (as its not vegan) and don't have access to the other two. (I might have asked this question to you earlier, but cant remember which post, so unable to check your answer to that. sorry for repetition!)

I used cacao powder vs. cocoa and it is very tart/rich. It is good, but a little too rich for me and I love dark chocolate. What brand cocoa powder do you use?

Hi, Greetings from Alaska! I LOVE your site :) had a question about the coconut oil... i have only used it in my "pre - raw" days, If I just pull it out of the cupboard and scrape some out will it really mix in with the rest being that it is a solid or am i thinking of the wrong product? Sorry of this is a silly question but I guess I'm just envisioning white chunks of this oil and not being able to blend it and getting it to mix in... just curious...Cant wait to try!!!

Hi Verna,
Another one in a cold climate just like me :)
Yes, you are right about the white chunks! Just keep stirring/mixing with a spoon slowly. It's okay if it's in its solid state, you can blend with a spoon and get the chunks out. It will just take a while. Mine is usually in a solid state as well unless it's the height of summer

I boiled some water and set my bowl inside the water to warm up the coconut oil. Only takes 76 degrees F to make it a liquid. So don't keep it in there to long. Than add the coco powder. Delish! and Quick!

Brown rice syrup is an amazing good sweetener substitute. It is one of the only sugars that is easier for your body to process because it is glucose. I also believe it is raw. All other sweeters are fructose, which is harder on the body. Much research has been done and agave is just a bad if not worse than high fructose corn syrup. Yes many vegans do not use honey, but honey also does have a distinct taste, which may take away from a recipe. Anyway, I made this with brown rice syrup an it was amazing! Thank you so much Laura and I would encourage you to try or use brown rice syrup in all of your recipes ;)

Hi Natalie, I don't think brown rice syrup is raw but it is definitely a good option. I haven't used it but it could be a great option for some. I agree about the honey flavour!!

I have just begun transitioning to a raw diet for me and my 8 and 4 year old daughters. I was getting worried that I would not be able to find a raw, chocolate treat for us before I found this recipe. We tried it just now, and it was amazing. It kindof tastes like brownie batter before you cook. Thank you so much for this recipe.
