"survival bar recipe"

I'm thinking of making a complete, raw nutrition bar and need some imput on the ingredients and prep. Here's my concept:

Raw agave nectar mixed with powdered walnuts (possibly hemp seed) to make a paste.

Then, mix the paste with wheatgrass and dry.

this is so I'd have something to eat when I had no time or needed portability. Do you think it would store well? How many nutrients would it lose? How should I store it? Is it complete? Would it dry right? Are the ingredients truly "raw"?

Thankyou all greatly and kindly for your insights!

  • It sounds like it needs some raisins or goji berry mixed in. I find it's best to store dehydrated foods in paper.

  • Thanks, susoria!

  • there's lots of protein bars and the like on this site- check out some of those recipes. I would say the wheatgrass juice might shorten the life of those so maybe a green powder or spirulina or chlorella would work better. Those i think would keep for a week in the fridge or a month in the freezer. Cut and wrap them in waxed paper for storage.
