Crazy health devices?

EMF protection, parasite zappers, magnet therapy, etc… What works and what doesn’t? Have you or do you know of anyone who has had health improvements with things such as these? Are there any simple DIY methods for creating things such as emf protection devices?

From personal experience, infra-red saunas kick ass! Detox foot pads are proven to be a complete hoax as well as most forms of ear coning (very dangerous as well).

About a year ago I bought two emf protectors. When I got them they were button size rubber plastic. My DH is an electronic tech. He was between laughing his head of and giving me that your are dumb look. Right now they are stuck on my computer. Hoping, just maybe, I am not dumb.

  • It’s really sad how some companies are taking advantage of the holistic health care craze, although it’s not even 1% as bad as what the AMA and pharmaceutical companies do. Some energy based treatment has been shown to work, but when it comes to a home device…?

I don’t know how crazy it is, but I just recently bought Bluetube cellphone headsets from mercola.com for every member of my family: http://products.mercola.com/blue-tube-headset/

I’d read story after story about how people got brain tumors right where they held their cellphones to their heads, and the Bluetube headset seemed like the perfect solution. It uses a tube of air to carry the sound to your ear, fully protecting you from the radiation. The sound quality is excellent and they’re very comfortable.

I’m also thinking about buying a Himalayan crystal salt lamp. I hear they give off negative ions that are very good for you.

Most of that stuff is a con sold by evil people who sell cancer cures. I’m very familiar with the parasite zapper.

Bug zappers are just indescriminantly destructive.
    From this NY Times article:
    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=...
An entomologist, Dr. Douglas W. Tallamy, and a high school student collected the insects killed by bug zappers over the course of a summer in 6 Newark, NJ yards…
Of the 13,789 bugs killed – only 31 were biting flies.
The bug-zappers’ haul included nearly 2,000 potentially beneficial insects that prey on or parasitize other bugs. In addition, thousands of harmless species, including esthetically pleasing creatures like fireflies and scarab beetles…

    and from Dr. Beetle:
    http://drbeetle.homestead.com/zap.html
“The corollary of this is…by… killing beneficial or harmless insects you are starving much of the bird life in your area of their insect diets. Silent springs again.”
    and…
“One study found that millions of live bacteria and viruses were released when insects were disintegrated by the zap. This effect is especially dangerous around food preparation areas. Zappers will explode insects, spraying their body parts and a cloud of bacteria into the atmosphere. Insect particles can be particularly allergenic to some humans.”
    Ugh….

  • Not a bug zapper! People, especially those at CureZone, are making tons of claims about the killing of internal parasites with devices such as [“these”]:http://www.paradevices.com/. I have no idea if there claims are true, but they seem to have a pretty good following.

I’m thinking about getting a crystal salt lamp too. I’ve been around one, and they do seem to improve the air quality. Even if they don’t all that much, it would make a nice addition to the home.

Sorry James3112! DUH to me! I can laugh at myself when I make a mistake. I definitely misread your initial entry. You DID write parasite zapper. Thanks for making me laugh though (even if it’s at my own expense!) lololololololol etc…hahahahahahahahahahahahaha…. duh.

  • Lol. Well hey thanks for all that info on bug zappers! You’ve really prevented me from getting one in the future?! Hahahaha. Damn I’m really starting to hate my username now. I wanted it like jamesR, but that was already taken and my creativity had reached an all time low. Now I’m left with the lame generic first name and #s tag. :(

i believe that there have been a few other members who have changed their username. Have you tried contacting Ray or Kandace? They can probably help.
