Hair loss

  • I'm so happy I found this thread. I lost about half of the thickness of my hair two months after I turned to a vegetarian diet. I had a very hard time (most probably from my lack of research) providing my body with adequate calories, proteins, and vitamins.

I'm restarting my raw diet I fell off of a few months ago. With all these new tips, I'm hoping to do this the healthiest way possible! I've now realized how important it is to ensure adequate good fats, vitamins and protein intake. :)

Thank you for all the helpful tips!!

Remember an iodine source littlemissunshine, hypothyroidism is the most common cause of hair thinning in woman.

  • My hair has thinned a lot since going raw but it is stable at the moment. Wheatgrass juice is a raw food that can help improve hair growth: http://www.sweetwheat.com/top-50-benefits-of-wheatgrass You can drink it or take it as a supplement.

  • I see this was posted a while ago, but I do have some advice for others who might have a problem with dry skin. Try a water filter in the shower. I use the sprite water filter. You can buy them at Home Depot.

Also pay attention to what kind of water you drink. Distilled water is best according to the Bragg Health Lifestyle books.

This will be my first time ever attempting to go 100% raw. I will get some iodine if my hair starts thinning. I am still taking all of my vitamins so hopefully I will be ok.

6 months ago, which was the last time I was a vegan, my nails got thicker and I did not have any hair thinning. But even then I continued to take all of my vitamins. My favorite brands are solgar and country life.
