Recipe Directions

Soak buckwheat groats in pure water overnight and sprout 2 days. In a small bowl, simply add 1 c (or more) sprouts, sliced banana, handful raisins, handful ground almonds. Then sprinkle gogi berries, coconut on top or a drizzle of raw honey or agave. Mix all up and enjoy! This is highly energizing and very filling!

This looks delicious. Gonna have to try it. I soak buckwheat groats, rinse, and then dehydrate them for a raw version of rice krispies. Only better. My daughter loves them! Thanks for this new good idea! Redbird

Looks great Angela! Welcome aboard! About the sprouting, I always consult SproutPeople for times - they're the best.

Montrawal,
Thank you for sharing that. I am still new to the whole sprouting thing. I've made this and another grawnola twice and never had a problem with the groats not sprouting- in fact they grew super fast! But, I didn't know that they would have absorbed the needed amount of water with a quick soak just as well! Thank you! It IS very important to riinse these very very well- after the soak and during the sprouting. Yup!

I just soak them for 20 minutes too. Otherwise they turn to mush.

Sounds great! I bought some oat and buckweat groat yesterday at my organic coop and the friendly employee told me the 2 together was delicious! He also mentionned not to soak the buckweat groats more than 10 to 20 minutes because they loose their nutrients after that.Sproutpeople dot com says if you leave them longer they might not sprout!
