Recipe Directions

1. Process the first three ingredients until brown and white are marbled.

2. Then stir in almonds. Do not process further.

3. Move to a bowl.

4. You may want to refreeze for five minutes longer before serving but no longer than 30 minutes, or the ice cream gets too stiff.

5. Garnish with almonds or chopped dates. Enjoy! ;)

Very good recipe.

FYI its best to peel the banana before freezing it. I had a lot of trouble until I ran the peel under some warm water. The banana stayed frozen but the peel thawed and allowed me to take it off.

We also didn't have or couldn't find carob powder so we just used cacao.

Portion sizes are also kind of small, so if you're really looking for a big fix make double for one person.

All and all a very delicious, simple and quick recipe.

Hi bottlerawket. Hi everyone! What fruit could I use to get the same consistency instead of bananas? I'm allergic to them.

I just made this and it was awesome. I loved loved loved real rocky road back in the day. I threw in a few more things. I used some vanilla to give it more of a rich taste. Added pecans instead of almonds and a few dashes of almond milk to give it a more smooth ice cream texture. Wish i had some raw marshmallows.. LOL

As for Kendra, try using frozen coconut milk would be a great base instead of bananas. :)

(young coconut meat + water of coconut, blend till smooth and then freeze)
