  • 1. Add all of the raw broccoli soup recipe ingredients (except the last 1/2 cup of broccoli) to your high-speed blender.
  • 2. Blend in your high-speed blender. Start blending on low and work your way all the way up to high. Blend for a very long time so that the soup recipe warms up nicely from the speed of your blender.
  • 3. Place your additional 1/2 cup chopped broccoli into a bowl. Pour blended broccoli soup mixture on top of the chopped broccoli. Mix gently with a spoon. (So you will have a creamy broc soup with some floating broc chunks, capiche?)
  • 4. Serve immediately. For an added touch, garnish with thinly sliced avocado.

As you probably know, I have a lot of raw soup recipes. My favourite raw soup recipes are probably raw corn chowder and raw cream of celery soup or raw tomato soup - so if you have never made raw soup before try starting with those!

However, I was recently craving raw broccoli soup, and I made this simple recipe. It did the trick to satisfy my broccoli craving.  But obviously you should only make this raw broccoli soup recipe if you actually like the taste of raw broccoli. :)

This raw broccoli soup recipe makes enough for one big bowl or two very small appetizer cups.

I have a quick question about most of your raw soups. What would be another nut alternative to cashews? We have introduced walnuts and almonds to our 2year old daughter but not cashews.

Hi Theo, you could try macadamia nuts instead - (almonds and walnuts won't have the same creamy effect)

I just finished radiation treatments 6wks for head and nec cancer. The radiation took away my taste buds so I can't taste anything but raw foods. I'm very excited about your app because I can now taste raw vegetables. Meat pasta rice all taste like cardboard. The dr said taste buds suppose to come back and I hope so. Until then I am eating your recipes because I can taste savory. Thank goodness!!

This soup was very tasty, though I think the next time I make it I will use less honey/agave. It was very filling, which was great.

i was wondering if you pre soak the nuts? and if so how long? Isn't it always healthier to sprout nuts (if possible) for the most nutritional value?

Hi Courtney, no it is not necessary to soak/sprout them.  In general, my recipes do not need to be  soaked/sprouted unless it explicitly says so.

Yes, many people like to soak first - but I find it is very time-consuming.

Can You imagine when I started taking raw food, I lost 18 pounds in a month and it was two weeks long raw diet . After that one cooked in a day breakfast and dinner again raw, after two weeks back again all three meals raw for a week. feeling great, more energetic and radiant. Love to eat raw food with Indian and Nepalese spices and flavors.

I've been craving broccoli soup lately, but only knowing my grandma's recipe made with heavy cream, loads of salt, and not so much broccoli (I realized the full recipe equaled 1 serving of vegetables, not one bowl) I was sure I was doomed to live without my favorite soup. This recipe is not only easier to make, it tastes way better, too. Now I need a dehydrator so I can make some bread or crackers for dipping in the soup. Yummy!

I made the broccoli soup this morning (for breakfast actually). I added a pinch of Himalayan sea salt & a sprinkle of organic garlic powder (before serving). Dee-lish! Thanks for the recipe. This is also surprisingly filling. The Vitamix really produces an incredible smoothness and creaminess. I'm looking forward to trying more of your recipes. I like your web site and have shared it with another of my friends.

I went raw only recently (after a complete digestive system shut down) as my body literally didn't want anything else and love it. Should have done it years ago, never ever even liked hot or warm food.
Your website has been great for simple tasty recipes - which don't need a zillion weird ingredients I can't even get in Amsterdam - and which allow me to get creative.
I made this soup without the honey/agave and once I had the broccoli cream added dried bell peppers strips and some salted crushed cashews on top. Very yummy!

I haven't started yet but i like the idea behind a raw food diet/cleanse. Only thing is it's winter here and i'm not keen on things like soups being cold...you can warm them up right?

They get warmish in the blender if you let them blend a bit longer to heat up

I'm on day 2 of a raw food cleanse and just tried this recipe, I didn't have lemon juice instead I threw in four grape tomatoes for taste. It was delicious and creamy because of the cashews! I'll be sure to try more of your recipes!
