Recipe Directions

  • 1. Blend the cashews and water in a high-speed blender. I use my VitaMix blender, which is the best blender in the world! Blend very well so that the liquid resembles a thin milk.
  • 2. Add the remaining raw cashew milk recipe ingredients and blend again.
  • 3. Drink this delicious raw cashew milk recipe and experience heavenly bliss! As mentioned above, your raw cashew milk can be drunk straight, or served as a milk substitute in cereals and other recipes.

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

Raw cashew milk recipes do not come close to this sweet, almondy cinnamony raw cashew milk recipe.

Raw cashew milk can be used for many many purposes in your raw food lifestyle.

I tend to drink this cashew milk as a delicious sweet treat, perhaps as a dessert, or I serve it over home-made dry cereal or I even splash a 1/4 cup on top of a bowl of my raw oatmeal.

If you have all these ingredients on hand this recipe really only takes a minute to prepare. Cashew milk can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days, but I would reblend before serving it in case any ingredients settle. But a batch of raw cashew milk doesn't last long in my house anyway!

PS: If you have any left over raw cashew milk from this recipe, try making raw chia seed pudding with your raw cashew milk recipe.

Please let me know how you like this recipe and any ideas of how you like to use this raw cashew milk recipe.

Hi Laura,

Can the Raw Cashew milk be kept and consumed beyond 4 days? I love this milk< but because I'm trying to loose weight by restricting my carb/fat/protein/sugar intake, it is taking me a bit longer to consume before 4 days.

Hi Yvette, It will go a little sour after 4 days. Perhaps a better idea in your case is to reduce the recipe size by half. Hope this helps!

I have a cheap blender and the cashew milk started to foam at the top, is that normal?? Next time I will omit the cinnamon since I am not a cinnamon person, but taste pretty good! I have to get used to the taste as I am avid almond milk drinker.

Kinda normal :) You can strain that off if you like - even using a spoon!

Amber's Review

Raw cashew milk recipe

I have a regular/crappy blender and it did not blend the cashews well enough. It tasted pretty good, that is why I commented above, however, after a few hours in the fridge, the milk clumped up. I even gave it a good shake, but clumpy pieces and the intense cinnamon flavor turned me off, so I discarded the whole thing. It is a shame that this is my first recipe and it is a fail.

I really want to try your mayo recipe, but could I use a food processor instead of my blender since my blender won't blend the cashews well enough??

Peace, Love and positive thoughts,
~Amber

Amber, are you sure you didn't put too much cinnamon in -like maybe a tablespoon instead of a tsp? cinnamon makes things clump up and it would make for an intense flavor... I would try it again with just cashews and milk and maybe agave and see if it does the same thing! good luck!

and one other thing :)... you should consider getting a vitamix or something like that... they are amazing and last for literally years! -esp if you are making things like cashew milk and other fun things! a great investment! -or ask for it for xmas! :)
-also the reason why I know about the cinnamon, is once I added a lot of it to my coffee ... and then it sat for a while... when I drank the coffee again, it was disgusting! thick and clumpy and the texture was so bad I couldn't drink it.

Hi Amber.

I'm sorry that the cashew milk wasn't a success for you. It does sound like you didn't blend enough, or your blender isn't very powerful so it was still too chunky.

Re: mayo, it won't work very well in the FP - it will be too chunky. Best to look for different styles of recipes that work with the equipment that you do have.

Hope this helps!

I am looking for milk for ranch dressing. Do you think this would work if I deleted the vanilla and cinnamon? Will the milk last longer in a dressing or still only three days? Thank you. (I always thought you had to soak nuts before making milk)

Yes - you can just do water and cashews alone for sure :)

I would love to be eat raw, your recipes are fantastic! But I'm under weight, so what can I eat raw that would put on weight, or at least not let me lose weight? This is what's keep me from going raw. I tried to be a vegetarian and lost weight. I can't afford that. I appreciate your help, if you know what foods I could eat.

Thanks Sandy

I love this! So creamy and no straining. I substituted the maple syrup for two fat medjool dates; maple is so expensive here in Ireland :-)
