The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

Raw cashew milk recipes do not come close to this sweet, almondy cinnamony raw cashew milk recipe.

Raw cashew milk can be used for many many purposes in your raw food lifestyle.

I tend to drink this cashew milk as a delicious sweet treat, perhaps as a dessert, or I serve it over home-made dry cereal or I even splash a 1/4 cup on top of a bowl of my raw oatmeal.

If you have all these ingredients on hand this recipe really only takes a minute to prepare. Cashew milk can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days, but I would reblend before serving it in case any ingredients settle. But a batch of raw cashew milk doesn't last long in my house anyway!

PS: If you have any left over raw cashew milk from this recipe, try making raw chia seed pudding with your raw cashew milk recipe.

Please let me know how you like this recipe and any ideas of how you like to use this raw cashew milk recipe.

This cashew milk is gorgeous ! I highly recommend it.
I put in less honey and 1 vanilla pod ( they are expensive) and it is perfect for me. I put it on the raw breakfast and on chia seeds and drink it straight so far - yum.
Thank you again for sharing your great recipes.

How long can the cashew milk be stored, if you make a large batch. And is there any other nut milk you can make without straining?

Thanks

Hi Sandy,

Cashew milk can be stored for approx. 3 days in fridge

It's not a nut milk, but you can make hempseed heart milk which doesn't require straining.

You mentioned re-blending it...does it work just to shake it up or does it really need another whirl in the vitamix?

Hi Sarah, a vigorous shake with something that has a tight fitting lid (mason jar, for example) should do the trick :)

This was awesome. I didn't know what vanilla seeds were but I had some vanilla bean (some friends brought it back from Madagascar) and it tasted delicious. My husband is lactose intolerant and I had been trying to make almond milk but the soaking and straining was a dealbreaker. This is easy enough for him to probably even handle himself. Thanks for a great, yummy, easy recipe! Looking forward to trying others!

Glad to have you here, Tiff :) Definitely easier than almond milk since no straining is required

Hi, thismay be a dumb question, but I am new to Raw foods...does the cashew milk need to be strained through a nutmilk bag?

Hi Michelle, not a dumb question at all!

Cashew milk does *not* have to be strained, but most other milks (almond, brazil nut, etc) do need to be strained. This is because cashew milk doesn't really have a fibrous, gritty pulp, whereas most other nuts do

Although I've already commented on this, I didn't rate it (not sure if I could at the time!). Anyway, I love this recipe. It's a sweeter milk than the almond but I find it really tasty - though I confess I put in slightly less honey. Very quick and easy to make too - no strain!

I make this at least 3 times a month to go with various smoothies, or add in for oatmeal, and even corn meal. I love love love this recipe, it's so much easier than almond milk, and tastier too :)!

I make cashew nut milk for my one year old, I make a new batch every 3 days. I only have a crappy blender so I strain through a nut milk bag. This process is proving to be quite full on and was just wondering how it would go making a few batches at once and freezing the milk, have you tried this before and been successful?

I froze a cup of almond milk recently and it worked wonderfully. Once thawed the flavor and texture was the same as when it was fresh.

I'm planning on starting making Sundays my prep day because work weeks are crazy. My hope is to make a batch of milk on Sunday for the week. Will the milk keep this long in the fridge? And if not how long does it usually last? Thanks :)

Hi Meg, it will probably only stay best-fresh for the first 4 days or so.
