The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

This delicious, flavorful granola tastes just like down-home traditional granola.

The only equipment required is a dehydrator. No blending or processing required, simply mix together and dehydrate!

Feel free to add additional or alternative ingredients, like craisins, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs and so much more.

Serve with your favorite nut milk, on top of raw yogurt or raw soft-serve ice cream, or just carry as a snack.

Any other nut butter will work, like almond butter, peanut butter (not raw), cashew butter, etc.

But.... don't run out of tahini next time :)

Tried and i love it. Is not heavy - even not hard. I made a bowl with sliced banana, coconut dried, açai and agave sirup.

Thanks from Barcelona (spain)!

I'm so glad the granola worked out well for you, Christian!

I love Barcelona - I was there in early 2017 for the first time. Beautiful spot!

Thank you! What temperature do you dehydrate them? Can you replace the maple syrup for honey?

Hi Yvonne!

Yes, you can definitely replace the maple syrup for honey. Honey is a bit sweeter than maple syrup, so probably use 1/4 cup instead of a 1/3 cup.

Dehydrate at about 125F :)

Mich's Review

Raw granola recipe

Hi, I made this last night but didn't have dried coconut flakes. I subbed the tahini with raw almond butter also. I don't have a regular dehyrdator but my air fryer has a dehyrdate function. I set it to 120F(Can't put it at 125) and dehydrated it for 6 hours but this morning it was still sticky and whatnot. Still tasted good but it didn't come out dry and crunchy. Any ideas?

Hi Mich! It's tough to say, especially since you used an air fryer which I have never used myself. I'd say that definitely had something to do with it, but it sounds like it tasted good, so that makes me happy :)

Other than suggesting getting an actual dehydrator (which I understand might not be an option, especially since you have something that does dehydrate) - you might just need to experiment with dehydrating things for LONGER than is called for with your set up? Keep playing and let me know how things turns out!

I tried dehydrating longer(a few hours more) and it still was kind of like those fruit and nut bars you see in stores. Needless to say it was STILL delicious and is definitely something I'd keep making. I actually want to make it again but this time leave it dehydrating overnight.

I'm glad it was still consumable!! Dehydrator recipes that don't turn out are the worst, because of all the waiting :) Ha!
