Yield
Make more than half a blender full. Depends on how thick you like it.
Ingredients
½ cup Fresh Oregano, Remove stems. Pack tighly into 1/2 cup. More is better than less.
¾ cup Tomato. Whole., chop into quarters.
8 clove Dates. Large whole fresh., Not cloves of course. Use 8 whole Dates. Remove stone or pits.
2 tablespoon Lemon Juice, juice from 1/2 of a lemon.
2 tablespoon Olive Oil, Cold Pressed, Unfiltered
½ tablespoon Cinnamon Powder
½ tablespoon Salt, Sea or Rock
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Powder, or 1/2 tsp Hot Chilli Powder
1 cup Almonds, Soaked 6-12 hours
1 cup Water, bless your water
Recipe Directions
You can substitute dried oregano and dates if you need to. If so use 2 tablespoons of dried oregano and soak the dates for an hour before using.
Put it all in your blender. Add water slowly just to keep it moving. Liquify. Keep adding water until creamy, very thick, but able to pour well.
Let it stand for a half hour before using.
You must try it over chunks of sweet ripe pears with chopped green onion on top. The Cinnamon makes it work, trust me.
Chriscarlton's Thoughts
By chriscarltonWhat a flavor! Unique Greek/Middle-Eastern Sauce. I love it over big chunks of sweet ripe pears or avocados & broccoli or either with chopped green onions on top. Great dip also!

this makes a very very large jar, about a 1kg jar. I think you could safely halve it.

I goofed and forgot the oregano (way too much multi-tasking evidently) and if it was THAT amazing without the oregano I can't even imagine how great this will be with it!

This was quite delicious over regular old iceberg lettuce, julienned carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes with chopped onions. I omitted the lemon juice but it still was very tasty. Thanks!

I can't wait to try this! Chris, how many meals does the recipe make? Looks like it would provide 4 generous servings. I always tend to have too much of everything and I can't really eat large quantities at once.
