Your Top Ten Raw Foods

I have noticed that we seem to like the type of threads where we can see what we each have in common. Threads like 'what you ate today', 'where you live', 'how old are you' seem to be quite sticky. I thought it would be fun to start a 'top ten' list of foods that we all like!

    These are my current choices but it changes on a weekly basis.

    1. Berries (Any kind - I love them all!)

    7. Olives

    8. Raisins

  • this is fun!!! i tend to eat the same foods a lot and looks like a lot of people like them, too. my list is in order of how obsessed i am. haha Junk food is last ; )

    And grapes.....and pecans....can't believe they didnt make it on my list either! Top 10 is too difficult.

    Edit - Oh, persimmons!! I have had those. One wasn't ripe, though. They HAVE to be ripe!

  • superfood2, sharon fruits are persimmons. i've only had 1, but i like them. it just takes forever for them to ripen.

  • yes, make SURE your persimmons are ripe, or you may experience the REALLY unpleasant sensation of having all the moisture in your mouth suddenly disappearing.

  • well, i don't have a sweet tooth, i only crave savory things, so for me becoming raw is very difficult since there aren't a lot of raw nuts that i can afford to eat on a regular basis... and i can't think of a lot of favorites... sunflower seeds are a nice staple food for me... i'm eating mostly to sustain my life with the occasional treat... paige4 has some things on there i've yet to try

    i'm just going to start drinking blended greens instead of making salad i think...

    1 *cashews

    2 *pistachios

    3 pomegranates

    4 tamarinds (though they are rarely good because the stupid grocery store overstocks them so they all dry out and go bad)

    5 pineapple

    6&7 agave nectar with cocoa

    8 *cherries

    9 *macadamia

    10 avocado

    * things i can rarely afford

  • For Rob and me, this is what we eat the most:


    2.sprouted buckwheat

    3. alfalfa sprouts

    4. collards/kale, PARSLEY!!

    5. any berry we can get

    6. bananas

    7. mangoes

    8. oranges

    9. apples

    10. grapes for me, or papaya for Rob. They are both too expensive to get often but we love them!

  • I don't have a sweet tooth, either. I just eat what my body needs. I definitely don't eat for my tooth's benefit. ;)

  • I love cabbage because of the way it And because of it's crunchy texture. I make a couple of good salads using it. So sad that you don't like it. Apparently I have a thing for the cruciferous vegetables, i think cabbage fits in this category. I just had some salad made from a cabbage that I grew.

  • i love cabbage too! purple cabbage is supposed to have all kinds of cancer fighting nutrients in it too. Although Ive been told to not bring cabbage dishes in for lunch at work anymore. Apparently people don't appreciate the smell.
