Pea Flour

O.k….another ingredient question. I am trying to expand my repertoire and creativity, so I am looking into new ingredients. Anyway, has anyone heard of Pea Flour? A friend told me it is very common in Canada and also in Indian cuisine (?). Is this a raw ingredient, and if so, where would one buy it?

What kind of pea? Maybe if you sprout some pea and grain it?

yeah, maybe just dry some peas and grind them? Never heard of it, but I imagine pea soup made with it would be lovely. I might try it.

  • I just bought whole dried peas from the bulk section of the hfs to see if I could sprout them. Maybe they could be sprouted, dried and then ground up like Lucy mentioned.

Yes, I have thought of that, just hadn’t tried it yet. I was really hoping someone might have heard of it and that they could offer some tasty recipes!
