Five Ingredients Or Less!

willmizewillmize Raw Newbie

One of the great things about being raw is the extreme creativity that people bring to their recipes.
As a lazy bachelor, one of the things I hate to do is cook.
What to do?! What a conundrum!

I am creating this thread for myself and any other lazy raw foodies out there.
If there are any.
I do admit I might be the only one :)

I issue this challenge to all your fabulous raw chefs and cooks out there: give me something fabulous and easy, five ingredients or less. No dehydrating (remember I’m lazy), no smoothies! (but not that lazy, I mean, dang)

Post a recipe, post a link, whatever.

You up for that? Feeling lucky? Feeling creative? Have at it!

You might want to have a hunt round Google, I seem to remember seeing a raw foodist who’s speciality was recipe books with 5 ingredients, and I think he did one with 3 or less as well. Sorry can’t remember his name.

Great idea for a thread though.

  • Hehe…

    “Midnight Snack” :

Mix together about 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon coco powder (raw, or not), 1/3 cup dried shredded coconut, and 1 tablespoon agave. Chop up 1 or 2 bananas into small pieces and stir until well coated with the coco-coconut. Enjoy! =)

My favorite desert is cashew and maple syrup (or agave).Taste like sweet milk (doce de leite). And also apple sauce with flax seeds (blended apples).

Hmmm . . . usually I either make a smoothie, a salad, or else a gourmet meal. I don’t really have a lot of recipes in between, but here are three I could pull up:

Cut up cubes of papaya and then squeeze the juice of a lime over them. Delicious combo!

    Chocolate mousse:
    1/2C cacao powder
    1/2C carob powder
    1 avocado
    10 dates, soaked
    2T agave
Optional: Vanilla extract, mint leaves & raspberries (for garnish)

    Mock Salmon Pate:
    1C walnuts
    2 stalks celery
    1 large red pepper
    1 scallion
    1/2t cajun
This would go well on salad, or as a dip with zucchini chips.

  • I like to whip up this recipe from Thedailyrawcafe.com:

    Avocado slices with lemon

    Serves 2
    1 avocado
