Durian

Hello everyone!
So, I’ve been seeing quite a few recipes posted lately using Durian and all I know of it is that it is a very acquired taste. I have heard it described as a very funky cheese smell/taste and either you love it or hate it. I haven’t been brave enough to try it, am I correct in my descriptions? Is it in season now or something too?

    Hi hkittykitty,,I love Durian! I think it tastes like vanilla custard and onions…sounds gross but it is savory, creamy, luscious and yummy!!!!

    i haven’t been brave enough to try it either!
    i found some durian pods frozen at the asian market, and i bought them, they’ve been in my freezer for about amonth. i had them stored near the fan, and i realized that the smell had permeated to my refridgerator! definately a rotten cheese kind of smell.
