Sprouted wheat vs. buckwheat

I noticed that all oatmeal recipes and cookie recipes and whatever else called for buckwheat sprouts. I have plain old wheat sprouts sitting on my counter right now. Can I use them in place of buckwheat? Ive never used either as of yet so I dont know what the differences are for taste or texture or anything. Please enlighten me:) Thanks. Jaclyn.
