Raw Spaghetti-when to peel zucchini?

How do you know when the zucchini squash is soft enough to spiral into noodles? I made some for the first time the other night and the noodles were crunchy, and not at all like pasta (it still was good though!).

    The zucchini needs to be firm in order for the spiral device to work. You can sprinkle the “noodles” with seasalt and let stand to release the water, then rinse and dry to get a more authentic pasta.

  • I just used my new slicer with zucchini. It worked well after I figured out how to use it:) What else works well as “spaghetti” noodles?
