Vegan Shoes, Etc.

kandacekandace Raw Newbie

I have been focusing lately on learning more about brining my vegan eating habits into areas such as clothing. I’d like to learn more about vegan shoes specifically – ones that are comfortable and fashionable. To this end, I’ve recently discovered Form & Fauna – the darlingest shoes I’ve laid eyes on in recent time (I picked up a pair with soles made out of recycled yoga mats – how comfy is that)! Does anyone else have favorite non-animal product clothing lines?

heres a pair of man made material hiking boots that are a good buy , ecspecially right now as paylessshoesource has a buy one get %50 off the next one . i wear these to run / bike / yard work / leisure / and i also keep a couple pairs i wear only for dress as i care zero about fashion and as long as theyre clean i can roll . these boots arent as long lasting / durable as leather but as man mades go are good , and while providing good solid support theyre also light for running . and if one was to order any if your bills over $50 they give you free shipping to the nearest payless store . link = http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.as… ..

I love my Vegetarian Shoes boots. They never fall apart. They are the Dr. Marten style 10-hole ones and I had a pair once that I wore as my work boots when I worked at the zoo and they got water logged many times and had mud and fish spilled on them and they never fell apart. Yes, they are a bit expensive but well worth the money.

You might want to check out Alternative Outfitters – all vegan shoes and very stylish. So if you are a “girly girl” and want cute shoes – that is where you go. :) I have several boots from them. They also sell cute handbags and such. The shoes are pretty true to size and they let you know if they are smaller than normal or run bigger. http://www.alternativeoutfitters.com/

There is also Moo Shoes -they are pretty expensive – based in NYC. I got a pair of boots from them once and they were too narrow and I ended up sending them back. http://www.mooshoes.com/

Another place I get my shoes and boots is Ebay – there is a seller called Fourever Funky. http://stores.ebay.com/Fourever-Funky-Footwear I have a super cute pair of vegan moccassin type boots with faux fur on them and I always get compliments on them. Super cheap too!

For bags if you want super she-she and don’t mind expensive there is mat & nat: http://www.mattandnat.com/

I have a cute purse from them that I keep just for events like interviews or something. I got it cheaper on Ebay – look there first if you want one of their bags.

Other places for shoes are Earth – they sell vegan styles of their shoes. http://www.earth.us/

I have several pairs of vegan Birkenstocks too.

If you are looking for earth friendly and vegan clothing you might want to check out Ecolution – you can buy their products at http://www.rawganique.com/. The people who run it are raw foodists! It is hemp clothing and you can even buy a wedding dress from them made out of hemp!

There is also Sweetgrass natural Fibers. I have bought my bf hemp pants from them and he loves him. I have one of there skirts too. http://www.sweetgrassfibers.com/

For organic cotton, I love “Of the Earth”. They make comforty trendy organic cotton tees (like gap style stuff I guess) that is thick and warm and looks great. http://www.oftheearth.com/

There is also Earth Creations for hemp tees, tanks etc with cute designs on them. http://www.earthcreations.net/

For organic cotton socks, I love Maggies Organics. http://www.maggiesorganics.com/theenvironment.php They also sell some cute tops too.

I am sure I have more but those are the ones that pop up in my head when I think of the stuff I buy. I have been looking for animal and eco friendly clothing for the last 19 years since I went veg (esp shoes) so I have a quite a long list. :) I have bought from all these places and I was pretty happy with them.

michigan roman~ Are the boots you are referring to stock no. 55219? Try putting that number in the Search field…

Sometimes it works better posting a link when one uses the formatting of websites addresses (the one with the quote marks, third down in the list under Formatting Help) shown to the right side of the box that you enter a text for a post.

    bluedolfin theyre number 50779 .

  • Roman – that foot gear is perfect. I prefer men’s shoes. Women’s shoes are too narrow and not deep enough. I am going to get these tomorrow. They will be perfect for hiking and the price is right too. Thanks.

  • I personally LOVE Simple shoes. They are so comfy and absolutely adorable. You have to wear them a few times to break them in, before they feel good, but after that, I swear I could wear them 24/7. The bottoms are made of recycled tires, the top is hemp, the button is from a coconut shell, and the footbeds are recycled paperboard. They are FABULOUS!! Check them out on zappos (free shipping!).

i was just reading at the payless site about those desoto hikers and noticed it says suede and nylon uppers , but i think the suede statement is wrong because ive these exact boots and the labels always said on the about 8 pairs ive gone thru ’ ALL MAN MADE MATERIALS ‘

  • http://www.simpleshoes.com/ this site has my favorite batch of shoes. Very ecofriendly. I buy my shoes from that company at a vegan shoe store in NYC called Moo Shoes. http://www.mooshoes.com/

Some brands I have personal experience with via ownership of a few pairs of shoes/boots (in descending order of price), are Noah, Will's Vegan Store, and Call it Spring.

I also keep a running list of shoe brands that are certified vegan by either PETA, The Vegan Society, or by an independent lab, as well as those that either claim to be vegan (including being from from animal-derived ingredients in the glues).

The list of vegan shoe brands is currently at 195, and growing! Vegan footwear has come a long way thankfully, especially since around 2019 when a lot more companies started popping up.
