Bath Concoctions

What Essential Oils or Herbs would be good for putting in a bath? I finally have a tub that I can soak in, I have peppermint oil atm, but would like to try something else…I am rather sore from my new pilates class so anything that would relax my muscles aswell as these awful monthly cramps that don’t seem to disipate despite how healthy I have been eating. The only thing that seems to work is hot teas or other warm liquids.

Dr. Howell in Enzyme Nutrition talks a lot about salt soaks being very good for you. Basically pour lots of sea salt in a very hot tub water, then soak for 10-15 minutes. In august i’m moving and i’ll have a tub to soak in – I can’t wait!!

  • That’s a great idea! I bet your skin would be soo soft afterwards, I will try that next time, Thanks Winona

  • lavender and chamomile are really great for relaxing. One thing I would warn you about peppermint essential oil is that it’s not good to use right before bed time as it often keeps people up at night.

  • Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind:)
