Keeping Up with the Recipes

Someone sent us an email today with some feature suggestions, relating to the recipes section. And I know they’re not alone in wondering how to keep up with the new recipes on Gone Raw! Frankly, there’s no perfect way yet – we’re working on it, and over the next few weeks, you should see some nice changes to the recipes section.

But we’ve already gotten started, and there’s some tricks to staying on top of things right now! They’re called RSS feeds, and you can find them wherever you see this icon:

You’ll find that we have RSS feeds in several places around Gone Raw. But the main one of interest is for new recipes, and the link you want is this:

There’s also a handy one for staying on top of forum topics:

So every time a new recipe (or forum topic) appears, you’ll be the first to know. You won’t even need to visit the website – all you need is an RSS reader. If you’re using a modern browser, such as Safari or Firefox, you’ve already got one. If you like the idea, you might want to try a full-featured program, such as Newsfire (Mac), Vienna (Mac), RSS Owl (Mac & PC), or Blog Bridge (PC).

As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts. If folks like the idea, we just might add RSS feeds for other things on Gone Raw.

  • Update today: if you’re subscribed to the recipes, as described above, you now get a photo of the recipe, if there is one.

Another thing we’re working on is a Gone Raw dashboard widget for Mac users to enjoy, which should be available shortly. Any Mac users on Gone Raw?
