Salt Tips

Everyone has different salt requirements according to their constitution, climate etc. In the summer, salt is helpful in order to draw in more water to the cells for hydration.

When using recipes, I recommend you start with a pinch of salt and then add to taste rather than using the amount stated. This will help you to only season with just the right amount for you. Remember the cooks saying ‘you can always add, but you can’t take away’ when referring to salt and it would be a shame to waste a recipe or have it turn out too salty to eat.

    Good idea.

I find that Real Salt sea salt requires more salt for cooked foods and less salt for raw foods. Plus, it requires even less salt if, say, the food is well processed! Probably due to increased surface area and thus, increased saltiness.

Yes, I found that himalayan sea salt really strong and really only needed a pinch now and then. I prefer celtic sea salt.
