how to convert measurements for extracts

queenfluffqueenfluff Raw Newbie

basic question:

does anyone know how extracts covert measurement and weight wise to the whole food?

For example, I have goji berry extract powder and I want to make something that calls for about an ounce of fresh goji berries. Instead of spending more money on fresh gojis I would like to use my extract powder.

Any idea of how to figure out how much goji powder extract is equal to one ounce of fresh gojis?

I think extracts are more concentrate than the whole food right?

As best as I could determine from some research, 3 1/2 tablespoons of goji powder in 8 oz of water equals the equivilent of fresh goji juice. Hopes that helps!

    thanks kevin!

I saw something similar to what you posted too. I may have to just “guessimate” it. I am trying to match with fresh gojis not juice.

2 Table spoons equals 1 ounce… I would use one tablespoon of the goji powder as it is more concentrated than the berries… If you measure a tablespoon of the berries there is a lot of empty space between each berry… This is my “uneducated” quess… LOL ;)
