  • I’ve resorted to glass. I’m now drinking out of mason jars. only bad part is they’re a pain to carry. I’m looking for some sort of koozie or strap. There’s also a company called aquasana that sells glass bottles (like Voss water bottles) and related koozies/bags. They’re $30 for 6 bottles (i think 32oz) and the koozie is $20.

  • I agree, glass is the safest simply because it has gone through the test of time! All these new high tech products they just don’t convince me!

  • Klean Kanteen makes a stainless steel bottle with no lining so no worry of what a lining may contain. We carry in Canada ( http://www.rawnutrition.ca/html/klean_kanteen.html ) their plain 27oz bottle with stainless steel cap but they also make some of various sizes and colors. Fits in most car and bike cup holders plus they have a large enough opening for easy cleaning with a brush.

For complete info in the U.S. check out http://www.kleankanteen.com/

I have a neighbor who drinks Arizona green tea. She was throwing the glass bottles away. I pick them up, clean them and use them, primarily for water. If I use one for a smoothie or cold soup and it doesn’t come clean easily, I add it to the recycle bin.

Philo, do you know I have 2 of those and just never dawned on me to use it for a drinking bottle! I was using it to make infused vinegar/oil or store dressing but totally blanked on the water. I have an IKEA 10 minutes from me, I might have to go buy another one and figure out some sort of creative carrying case! Thanks so much for posting :)
