Sun Warming

Hello friends:

I was thinking about using sun energy to warm some of my raw foods. For example, I am going to make tomato sauce today. I was thinking of putting it in a ball jar and letting it marinate in the sun for a couple of hours.

Any thoughts?

Excellent way to warm your food. Just remember that food can really warm up in glass, so just keep an eye on it. I do a lot of drying in the sun. It’s probably the best way and there’s no cost or energy waste!

  • Thanks Carmentina- It made sense to me too!

  • Sounds like a great way to add sun vitamines!!!

I know that dehydrating pretty dry things is Ok in the sun (like nuts, etc) but I have heard that sun tea can be a breeding ground for bacteria. If you read on the excaliber’s website, you will see they have talked about the issue of warm enough to kill bacteria but also not kill enzymes. with some thing so wet as sauce, I would be cautious. (I just hate getting sick so I always worry about those things.)
