Can't I just sprout my items in plastic tupperware?

Hello all! Do I really need glass jars in which to sprout my items, or can I just sprout them in plastic tupperware containers? What’s the purpose of using glass jars. Right now, I have oat groats, black turtle beans, green lentils, and brown rice soaking in 4 different plastic containers.

Glass doesn’t leach chemicals, plastic does.

Beany~ I just love you, short and to the point!!!

If you don’t mind, contact me at gmail… I have some questions I would like to run by you, if you have the time this week-end…

  • Like beany said plastic leaches, but that doesn’t mean you need to buy those expensive sprouting containers. Use any glass container you can find and sprout, sprout, sprout!

  • Thank you all so much for your comments! Okay Beany! I’ll contact you…I think you’re pretty great too! (smiles) ;-)

Ditto what beany said. I use the glass canning jars you can get at Walmart. I’m about to trot down there to buy some more. I also use them to store most of my dried goods. Very handy. You can get them in all sizes.

  • Walmart huh! okay I’m there!
