House REJECTS bailout plan!

  • Do you believe today’s Congressional vote against the Wall Street bailout is a victory for the American people and a rejection of the attempted extortion by corporate and political elites?

If interested…go to http://loudobbs.tv.cnn.com/ to vote.

Pan down page to QuickVote on right side of page.

  • It should be easy to see who supports the corporate elitist…you just have to look at the AYE list and the supporters for the bailout bill. This should tell us a lot about the values of certain significant others. (McCain/Obama) Corporate and Political Elitist…No More! People ARE tired of it! No More Band-Aids!

If this gets passed, we’re screwed. Keep your fingers crossed.

OH MY! It appears we agree on something. I may have to go back and re-evaluate my position. LOL :)

SIMPLYRAW Actually there was an interesting political division on the votes unrelated to party lines. Most of those who were recently in tough political elections or who are about to soon be in one voted NO. The rest voted YES. The true constituents of politicians are the corporate and monied interests. (I think “elite” is used more now to means anyone with an education.)

After I finally found a media source reporting the actual bailout details (and not the bullshit misleading stuff 90% of the media reported), I spent app. 4 hours yesterday emailing as many Congress members and Senators as possible asking them to vote no.

I don’t think it was the same activists doing it this time. People are finally mad and many are speaking out. Our elected officials are actually listening to and afraid of us – the people. This is an amazing anomaly. I think this may be the most amazing political event I have ever witnessed.

I suspect it won’t last for too long. As soon as the fallout hits the average person’s pocketbooks, they may cave in. Otherwise the elections will be over soon and I don’t know how that will change things. Any positive bailout effect will be short term. Our dollar is devalued already and we are going to print more just to prop up over-valued assets. It’s just insanity.

I hope people don’t soon forget the same fools now telling us the bailout will fix everything are the incompetent, greedy liars who got us here.

  • Meditating – Yes, I know. I think I am enjoying the thought that the Power of the People does have a Voice. I am sure most of us do realize the outcome for this bill would have been a lot different, if it was after the 2008 Election.

    Thank Goodness it wasn’t though!

I do hope it is not short-lived, but on the other hand most things usually are. It is sad, but you are correct…when it does begin to hit our pocketbooks, most will cave in.

Don’t mind me…just caught up in Today’s Victory.

However, for me…I was looking for something during the debates on Friday and I didn’t get it. Today, I think I found what I was looking for.

Furthermore, I did enjoy what Lou Dobbs said tonight…

Quote…”We need a Political Leadership Bailout; not a Corporate Elitist Bailout”.

SIMPLYRAW That is a great quote and I missed it. Thanks for posting it.

kevlar-thanks for the Ron Paul link. I found that very enlightening. I wonder, though…Do you think we’ll have to go at it again with more letters and a stronger voice or do you think this decision will hold?

Unfortunately, I think they’ll just keep submitting it to congress until it passes. Either way, we’re looking at some serious $#%@ about to happen.

Whether it’s the economy, Iran, Russia, or another terrorist attack, we’d better get ready for it.

Here’s a list of how everyone in congress voted on the bailout: http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/messag…

  • I have mixed feelings on this too. Funny though people are feeling the crunch on a good note people are starting to think about things like home gardens, growing there own foods, buying locally, driving less, not driving big cars and trucks, owning homes that are energy efficient. Money drives us, and when people don’t listen to common sense they listen to having less money and not being able to have all their toys. More companies are building in the city with ideas of people working where they live etc. Thats kind of nice. So as a glass is half full kind of gal I say things are going to be OK, we will get through this.

  • I found the vote tally easier to read here…

Kevlar...Are you familiar with who runs godlikeproductions??? (not a site I know much about…but husband knows an associate who use to go to this site. Until he learned the truth. Tavistock Institute)

  • KevlarKevlar Raw Newbie

Oh, I see you posted it on the first page too (must have missed it).

I’d never been to godlikeproductions until tonight. I just found the link in a Youtube video. Thanks for the warning. ;-)

The ONLY true bailout hope is a full repeal of the Federal Reserve Act followed by Government issued money. Then abolition of corporate laws that put profit to shareholders above any other responsibility a board has.

These two simple changes would go a long way!

    Cheers, Chris

  • KevlarKevlar Raw Newbie

    ^ Exactly!

  • I have been following this – duh :0) haven’t we all? – and I find it surprising that people want to blame no regulation for this problem. Have you guys seen this from youtube?

    Very interesting stuff….

  • Great speech by Thaddeus McCotter, Republican from Michigan

  • Plan is to vote on bill again tonight.

Both Defazio and Katpur have an ALTERNATIVE that won’t cost a dime and requires no Bailout Legislation

(The Senate is going to attach it to a more popluar bill.)

  • No doubt we’re burning down the house…

Uggggggggggg… the House just passed it: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view….

  • Kevlar – So happy to see you are still out there.

Yeah, it’s over now!!!! We’re Doomed!

    A true Charlie Brown moment….Uuggghhhhh!!!!

    Double Uugggghhhhh!!!!!!

  • RawKidChefRawKidChef Raw Newbie

what do you mean we’re doomed? What’s bad about the bailout plan? I thought it’s a good thing they passed it. I don’t see how it will affect the election, I mean, Obama has gained a lot on the polls and will win the election coz the economy is such a wreck.

  • MeditatingMeditating Raw Newbie

I figured this would happen. In addition to the $700 billion, they tacked on another $150 billion of pork and select tax cuts. None if this benefit me, but I get to pay for it to benefit someone who makes more than me. This country is so **ed.

  • RawKidChef -

My doomed comment was meant to be a funny.

However, my Uugghhh…Double Uugghhh comment was very much heart-felt.

Okay, with that said…and someone correct me if I am wrong or mistaken…But NOW that H.R. 1424 has been passed the Federal Reserve can continue to print phony money and in time we, the People, will have to confront this….which will mean worthless currency and world-wide depression. A collapse cannot be avoided; only temporarily delayed. I would have been happier with a recession.

    Anyone care to elaborate???

  • KevlarKevlar Raw Newbie

The bailout pretty much robs from the poor to give to the rich. If they print 700 billion extra dollars, every dollar you have in your savings account will be worth less. It’s called hyperinflation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperinflation

Our money will continue to be devalued until our economy self-destructs.

If you have any sort of savings in the bank, now would be the time to buy some gold or silver.

Also, get enough cash out of the bank to cover your bills for a month or two. You don’t want to be standing in an angry line, like what happened at IndyMac: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In9rbjeH1-4

    Here’s a summary of the law: http://www.speaker.gov/legislation?id=0264

I’m SURE they’re spinning it and not telling us what the NEGATIVE implications are. I don’t even see how this bill is delaying the collapse. It’s coming.

  • I am going to rant so if you dont like a bit of negativity ignore me!

    ARE AMERICANS STUPID!?

The bailout bill failed the first time mostly because the representatives were bomboarded by phone calls saying not to vote for it. It didnt pass and we dropped 777 points in the markets. Americans become AFRAID and actually started calling their Reps saying to vote for it.

It passes, and 3 DAYS LATER the markets drop OVER 800 POINTS. WTF did you think was going to happen people!

  • MeditatingMeditating Raw Newbie

JKD SOCCER I am an American and I do think the majority of Americans are stupid. I hate to say that and stupid is a harsh word. Perhaps disinterested would be better, but if you’re this disinterested in something this life-altering for everyone, then perhaps stupid id the better term.

Despite the fact that our political leaders and media lie to us, it is possible to figure out something is and has been for some time now. It requires minimal inquiry, you just have to care enough to inquire and that is the problem. Most of us are too lazy to take on the personal responsibility of good citizenship. Mainstream media has been reporting on the skewed housing market and impending real estate/mortgage bubble disaster for two years.

I am not sure I buy the store that Americans panicked and then asked for our representatives to approve the bill. Yes, I am sure many did; however, why would we call and approve of them adding $150 billion (a 20%+ increase) in pork to a bill when we previously called out of concern we would be diluting our currency. That doesn’t make any sense.

What does make sense is our politicians would lie to make us think the tide had changed. If someone has another explanation on this, I would love to hear it because this is all I can come up with.
