Spicy sweet and sour sauce?

NuttgirlNuttgirl Raw Newbie

Does anyone have a recipe for a slightly spicy sweet and sour sauce but raw version? I would love to use such a recipe with my veggie wraps.

I haven't tried this yet - but I will in a day or two (next time I make a wrap). I'm going to adapt it from the non-raw version found herehttp://www.sweetsavvy.com/recipes/recipe.php?id=R77.

I would try 1/4 cup vinegar blended with 2 dried apricots, soaked until tender and a bit of a hot chili (or some chili flakes). If it's not sweet enough maybe just a drop of raw honey (since it's such a small amount).

If it works out I'll be posting it as an official recipe soon! Haha... I'm out of town right now and don't have access to my 'stuff'.

  • chris carlton's sweet chili sauce on here is heaven and really simple - a mango, a red pepper, some dates and garlic and then a little ACV (i think that's all... anyways just search it out!)

  • this isnt exactly sweet and sour sauce but it is very close. you use 1-3tsp ground mustard powder,1/3c apple cider vinegar,1/4c raw honey,1/3c olive oil,1-3 cloves garlic and a dash of sea salt. this one could blow your mind. make sure to always use high quality organic cold processed ingredients whenever possible.....namaste

Here's a sauce I make a lot for raw pastas with an Asian flair (like this http://goneraw.com/node/9718)

1 tablespoon Ginger root (about one inch)

2 Large cloves garlic or 3 medium
