skin brushing makes my skin itch!

I've been using the skin brush, but it makes my skin very itchy. My bf has had the same problem. It's a boar's hair brush i think. Even when i use a lot of coconut oil- still itchy. Any one else?

    Hummm, sounds like you might not have the right brush. A typical skin brush is oval in shape and has cream oat colored bristles and they are bade from vegetable fiber not boar. Boar is a good brush for your hair and scalp and I use one to brush my hair everyday. I love skin brushing and try to do it as much as possible. Look online for vendors selling skin brushes and compare and see if you have the right one. They have them at the whole foods here where I live and my mom and sister bought one there.

    So are you all sure I cannot use boar bristles? That is ALL that is available to me unless I order from over seas. Seems so wasteful.
