Cilantro...ick!

Neither my husband, nor myself, care overly much for cilantro; taste or smell. Anyone know of a substitute herb for cilantro, besides parsley, which we DO like?

Thanks!

i used to think the same way,but i gave it a try and now i just juice it and add an apple to the juice so i don't feel the flavor that much, now i can't live without cilantro when i juice!! =-)

  • For what recipe do you need a substitute for cilantro?

Try using less of it or just skip it in general, I'd say. Cilantro has such a specific taste that it would be hard to substitute I would think.

By the way, I looooove cilantro, the more the better! :-)

  • I also hate cilantro - I sub in whatever fresh herb I can. Basil is one of my favourites, and is nice in thai dishes, which is where I see cilantro the most. Mint is another that's nice in thai - especially rolls. I'm not a fan of sage, and rosemary and thyme doesn't usually go in the recipes that call for cilanto. So yeah, I would say basil & mint are the best ones for cilantro.
