raw butter substitute?

Do any of you use a butter substitute? I would like to use it as a spread on some of the raw crackers I make and Andy, my partner, is not totally raw and would like a butter substitute for his backed potatoe. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Coconut oil/butter. It's solid at room temp but will spread and melt like dairy butter. It's slightly sweet though, so if you miss the dairy butter taste I'm sure you could sprinkle a little sea salt on top.

Yep. That's exactly what I do! Coconut oil, with sea salt. :~)

Rather than a substitute, which sometimes will disappoint, what about playing around with toppings that add a lot of flavor of their own, like pesto? Spicy sundried tomato paste? Red pepper puree? Cashew-garlic cream sauce?

Nutritional yeast has a cheesy taste, although it's not raw, it's acceptable to some. It could be blended into a spread, perhaps with garlic and oil.
