  • Very Dry, Straw-like Hair :(

Incorporating a little more healthy oils in your diet such as extra-virgin olive oil and coconut oil helps too. And try a hot oil treatment with either oil prior to shampooing your hair too. Just warm up a little oil and massage it into your hair. Cover your hair with a warm moist towel for about ten minutes and shampoo out. I hope it works!

  • Oh No, my hair is breaking off

You will not lose your hair if you make sure you still eat a balanced raw vegan diet comprised of vitamins, minerals and proteins. Your body will let you know what it needs. If you find that your hair is starting to fall out it may mean that you are not getting enough amino acids which are in proteins. Eating a variety of greens and nuts along with seeds, especially flax seeds will give you the amino acids you need. Also chia seeds are great little powerhouses that help to keep your hair healthy.

  • How to care natural hair?

    Hi Paulia,

Congratulations on going natural. I have been natural now for years. What you suggest is good but I'll tell you what I do. I only use shampoo bars now when I want to use soap and I also use coconut milk and avocado washes. To wash your hair with coconut milk - pour the coconut milk in your hair, massage your scalp and rinse out. The longer you leave the coconut milk in, the more conditioned your hair will be.

You can also blend up avocado and wash your hair with that too. Just make sure to rinse it all out. After you have rinsed your hair either using the coconut milk or the avocado - make a rinse with about 2 cups of warm water and add about two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Rinse through your hair as the last rinse. Don't worry, when your hair dries it will smell sweet. It won't have smell of the apple cider vinegar. Good luck to you!

  • My new journey: Going completely raw! Who joins? In need of support:)

I am in the same boat with you! I am transitioning to fully raw and feel great. My skin has improved and I have lost weight. You will not regret it. Take it slow and do not get discouraged if you eat a cooked meal every not and then. It does not make you a failure. It takes time for your body to get used to your new lifestyle and raw diet. You will make it. You are encouraged to keep to your goal - you will make it one day at time!

  • New to this lifestyle

    Hello Antoinette,

Congratulations on becoming raw. The best suggestion I can give you right now is to take the course offered here by Laura-Jane on becoming raw that includes the 30 day meal plan. It is great. It teaches everything you need to know about becoming and staying raw. It is a very positive and upbeat course. I am presently taking it myself now.

    Good luck to you!

    Carrie
