  • I second the importance of vitamins and supplements. Also, fiber is important too!
  • Hi and welcome!! Have you thought about going 80 or 90 percent raw? Then the other 10-20 percent wouldn't be quite big enough to be a binge, but it would still let you have little "cheats" until eating raw becomes a real habit and hard to break :)
  • Don't forget about coconut milk! It's raw, comes directly from the fruit, and doesn't require any work on your part (other than getting the coconut open which can definitely be work).  I mix it up between milk from traditional coconuts and the rich…

  • Coconut oil tends to work wonders.
  • I think that anything that lowers stress in our modern life is essential. It is so important to stop and just breath in nature sometimes.

  • Ha. That definitely does not sound like peanut brittle. I think some things just get lost in translation. Congrats on the very reasonable weight loss  A pound a week seems like a healthy pace.

  • Smoothies with a higher fruit concentration work for me!
  • I was a little achy while detoxing. I think it lasted nearly a week!
  • Greetings! Maybe it's your body adjusting to a change? I know a diet high in fat can do that, but don't see anything in your diet that would count.

  • That's a very reasonable way to approach it, via looking at the nutrient levels in everything. I've ended up with some pretty tasty new recipes just by trying to combine the right foods needed to get all possible vitamins, minerals, etc.
  • I hope everyone is having an excellent raw foods journey
  • Hi Jay. Welcome to the journey! :) Hawaii seems like it would be one of the best locations for a raw diet.
  • Can we just add it to a simple fruit salad?

  • Oil can be tough on the tummy! I was surprised how sick I felt the first time I had deep fried squash after a few months of eating raw.
  • Hi Nancy. Can you put the picture on a free site like http://tinypic.com/  and then leave a link to it here?
  • Anything with mango is to die for in my book  Welcome to the journey!

  • I think it depends on the honey you start with. The less filtered, the better.
  • Did you get them? How are they?

  • I wouldn't worry about it. weight loss can have lots of plateaus. As long as you're eating healthy, you should have healthy results

  • Hi Claire. I know a lot of people that didn't give up tea when going raw.  If you're super-worried about it being raw, how about making some sun tea?  It's pretty close.
  • Hi Paul. Welcome to our little community! I love that being vegan has been such a positive thing for you
  • Garlic does have that tendency  but I'll never give it up.
  • I'm still confused by the cacoa/cocoa butter. It's the same thing?
  • Erin, how are you doing these days? I use guided meditation for pain. It's not a long term solution, but it helps for a little while.
  • Welcome! We are always happy to have more community members
