  • Are you drinking enough water? Getting exercise? How about prunes (soak them first!).
  • Zoe, Chad Sarno’s website is amazing. But his 70-page book, Vital Creations, lists for $18.95 and costs over $12 to ship. Do you know another place to get it? I can’t find it on Amazon.com. Never mind, I found it here: http://rawfoodinfo.com/ There’…
  • Get another naturopath. I was turned on to raw many years ago by a naturopath. He wasn’t against occasional cooked grains, beans, or steamed veggies, but he felt you get your vitality from raw.
  • I have an open plan house like amysue and the 9-tray was too loud for me. I sold it and got a 4-tray instead. I’m a single person living alone. The 4-tray is usually plenty for me and it’s much quieter. I have a door to my bedroom and when I close t…
  • I have a Tribest Personal Blender and I love it. I use it for sauces and dressings, small batches of things, and to grind flax seed, spices, and other seeds. It doesn’t get hot and shut off. It’s not powerful enough to make nut milk or green smoothi…

  • Today is day 10 and I feel excellent – very clear, alert, and quiet. I’m not at all hungry and don’t feel like breaking the fast. I’ll be traveling later in the month, though, and don’t want to be on the MC and possibly running to the bathroom every…
  • Day 8 for me and feeling pretty good. This has been a heavy detox for me. Yesterday my sense of smell got way sharper and more alive. Very nice. I did a fast about 30 years ago that changed my vision substantially – colors got brighter. The change l…
  • Day 6 and I’m feeling kinda punk. Tired and achey. This may be becos the phone woke me too early. Meditating, I’ve tried the SWF a bunch of times. I drink the water and it doesn’t flush out. Instead I feel like I’ve had a bunch of salt – poisoned an…
  • Hi, everyone, I haven’t been following this thread but this is day 5 for me. I don’t do the SWF because I never expell the water, but I do just fine with the tea. In fact, I can only drink the tea once a day. I’m also drinking an occasional green sm…
  • Now it’s working well for me too. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue. It’s SOOOO nice to have this site back. Glad to hear you had a good holiday, Kandace. This is an awesome site. Thank you so much for all you do.
  • I’m so glad to see the site up again, but it’s still painfully slow for me.
  • Ditto. Most of the time I can’t get in.
  • Two things help me stay off coffee: 1) Chocolatey creamy smoothies that rawmama mentions. This works for the taste and the caffeine hit; and 2) Green smoothies. These give me enough energy that I don’t crave the jolt of caffeine. By the way, I haven…

  • Here’s a good site for finding GMO info: http://www.seedsofdeception.com/Public/Home/ind… Here’s a link to their nonGMO shopping list: http://tinyurl.com/53u2ua I know the author. He is extremely thorough and totally walks his talk. About organic pr…
  • Marichiesa, Oy vey is right. Totally meschuggennah!
  • I was really happy to hear that too, and not surprised at all.
  • This is the reply from Bariani: Our olive oil is “registered” organic with the State of California, which is the last step before being “certified” by a third party company. We can state “organic” on the bottle only when we get the certification.
  • Alix, They’re a small small company and it can take a while for them to respond to VM or email. I love their oil. I suspect it’s organic but they haven’t gone to the trouble of having it certified. I’ll let you know what I find out.
  • Bariani is my favorite, too. I always thought it was organic. I’ve emailed the company to find out if it is. I’ll post the answer here.
  • The best thing I have found for migraines is this: http://www.amazingatlas.com I found this last summer and it had a huge impact on my health and energy. So much so, that I brought the practitioner to my small town. He has come several times and tre…

  • I love my blendtec, too. I’ve had it for years. It’s wonderful. My friends just ‘upgraded’ to the blend-tec from their Vitamix and love it. They say it’s so much more powerful, they never need a tamper, it’s easier to use, and it fits under their ca…
  • AFAIK, what’s considered normal in all these tests is the average of what people test. It’s not what is optimal for health. There are exceptions. For instance, a friend with diabetes tells me that within the past few years the blood sugar level cons…
  • Karmyngirl, My HFS takes back bad produce. We live in a small town and everyone knows each other. They actually don’t require me to bring back the bad fruit, they just take my word for it. The local Hyvee will reimburse for bad produce but you have …
  • I make a Ranch variation all the time. Cashews and/or macadamia nuts, garlic, salt, lemon juice, water, olive oil, some fresh cracked pepper, oregano, dill, a little onion. It’s creamy and delicious. Sorry I don’t have measurements, never use them.
  • Either K-Tec (Blend-Tec) or Vitamix are well worth it. I’m of the K-Tec religion ;-). I have friends who just ‘upgraded’ from the Vitamix to the K-Tec and they are in heaven. The K-Tec is more powerful, easier to use, fits under the cabinets. There …
  • You should let it grow 5”-7” and then start harvesting it. Take scissors and cut off the grass about 1/2”-1” from the root. Don’t try to cut too low down the plant. Ann Wigmore, the wheat grass lady, believed you got the most benefit from the juice,…
  • I’ve been using Naturtint. It’s better than the salon stuff but I really can’t decipher the ingredient list. The ecocolors ingredient list is pretty scary sounding, too, though. Here’s an information page on Naturtint: http://www.herbsgardenshealth.…

  • nycgrrl, I use my K-Tec (blend-tec) blender to make wheat grass juice. It should work just fine for leafy greens, too. It actually works better than the expensive electric single auger wheat grass juicer I bought some years ago (and sold on eBay). Y…
  • If they are packaged they are almost certainly pasteurized (cooked).
