  • W.B.R. (and rawmama, and others too…) You are certainly NOT alone! Now that my family is going raw, we are meeting ALOT of resistance from my husband’s family. I will not get in to it here…but to make a long story short, sadly we have had to put our…

  • Omshanti….I used to live right near Bellingham, WA…. (and actually worked there for a few months) BEUTIFUL town, with so much wonderful energy. One of the reason’s we moved to Flagstaff, AZ is because it reminded us so much of Bellingham. Which Moth…

  • Joesc, To make date paste/syrup, I just soak dates in water for about 30 min., then blend the dates up with the soak water. I keep mine in a bottle in the refrigerator and use it when I want to use something other than stevia to sweeten a recipe.

  • I live in Arizona, and I buy “Fresh Arizona Dates- Black Sphinx” for 5.99/pound. They are grown here in AZ (obviously), so not sure why they cost so much…I get them at New Frontiers. I LOVE dates, and usually make a large batch of date syrup once pe…

  • I keep mine in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. But, I have frozen it for up to a month and it has been fine. As far as recipes go, I have made crackers, cup cakes, cookies, & pie crusts with it and they all turn out great!
  • I have had similar experiences after going raw and then trying alcohol…wow is right! It “hits” you alot harder than it would if you weren’t raw. Now, I never think about alcohol unless it is put in my face, and even then it is not hard to say no to …
  • brenilou & W.E. thanks for the great advice! I have a fairly strong knowledge base of diabetes, but always want to learn more. I am very hopeful for my mother and want to support her in her goal to get off insulin. Brenilou, I would love the inf…

  • I have a site too that lists over 100 studies about how bad soy is for you…it is www.taoistlife.com if you go to the bottom of the page and hit soy and/or soy studies you will find it. In my opinion, the only good uses for soy are alternative fuel, …
  • Raw agave is generally not really raw, so it should be fine to keep in the cupboard. For more info. on the “really raw” part, see Zoe and Chris’s dead food list at purelyraw.com
  • One of my favorites is kale and pineapple juice. Yum Yum!
  • Spinach is a natural laxative, and it looks like you have had quite a bit today. So, it could be light detox, a reaction to the cooked garbanzo’s, or the it could just be the spinach doing it’s “magic” ;)
  • What you are describing happens to me as well. I just got off the plane a few days ago (went from Flagstaff, AZ…small mountain town) in Seattle. My children and I immediately got runny nose, sneezing, itchy watery eyes, etc. Until we took the ferry …
