  • Hi Rupal, check out the book’The Amazing Liver and gallbladder flush’ by Andreas Moritz. It is a great book and addresses the causes of stones and shows you how to eliminate them. A vegan diet is best for prevention.

  • Miso has friendly bacteria, good for digestion. Only use top quality unpasteurised miso made with few ingredients. A good winter addition to the diet.

  • Hi all, in my experience sugar is dehydrating and I usually follow a sweet meal with a savoury one to balance. At this time of year (Autumn), the body naturally wants to draw in more sodium as it helps to keep it warmer for the cold months ahead. Th…

  • I think it’s a personal thing. When I first went raw I had alot of greens in my smoothie to deal with all the acids that were coming out into the bloodstream. Then, after 3 years I cut back on them and this last year I’ve not been enjoying the colou…
  • Please do not worry as this will make things worse. I am not trained medically so I can’t advise. But if I had those symptoms I would make sure I was drinking lots of water and reduce concentrated proteins in the diet such as nuts and seeds and take…
  • Funny, I just coloured my hair this morning using a product called ‘surya henna’. It is the best one I’ve found, using raw ingredients and based on ayurveda herbs. It says it can be used on previously highlighted hair, hair that has undergone permin…

  • I’m a carb type and do better substituting grain over nuts/seeds. I use sprouted quinoa in my smoothies and make cookies using grain flour that I’ve made. I like sprouted buckwheat too and I sometimes use soaked barley. I find I only need small amou…

  • I believe that is why we started cooking and hunting meat. Because during the winter when food was scarce, we would hunt or fish to survive. We are also meant to migrate/live in areas where food is most abundant, just watch the animals. However, tod…
  • Hi Daria, check out my oat cookies on my profile page.
  • I follow a low gi raw diet as much as possible. Some of my recipes might interest you.
  • Very interesting, of course ‘raw vegetarian’ is a whole lot different to raw vegan. You would probably get a pile of grated cheese and potato salad. The best option being raw vegan is always to take your own when travelling.
  • If I didn’t have alot of time, I would make a soup and take crackers or process a load of veggies and use the soup as a sauce. Extras would be avocado chunks and olives.

  • I tried sea spaghetti r (thongweed) recently and really like that. Also, grating or spiralizing zucchini is great with tomato sauce and a good sprinkling of kelp on top.

  • Don’t worry about getting enough protein, there is alot of controversy on the subject. Dr Cousens says that we need alot less than average on raw and ideally we should aim for about 30%. You will get your protein from green vegetables, algaes, sprou…

  • I’ve tried lots of seed/nut milks and the closest to real dairy for me is pine nuts and almonds. I like to blend up pine nuts with a pinch of salt and lots of water (about 3:1 water to the amount of nuts.) And then I use this over oat and buckwheat …
  • I made another cookie recipe, not so much crunchy, but if you keep them in the freezer, they will have a bit of a crunch. Nice cookies though. http://goneraw.com/recipes/1204-Oat-cookies
  • Ja and Luv, thank you very much, I appreciate that you posted this just for me. I will give them a try. Smiles sweetpea
  • Love the cutie kitten. Try increasing veggies in your recipes with just a little of ground seeds. I have to use low amounts of nuts and seeds otherwise I would feel sick. Your body obviously doesn’t need them. Also, I like to grind up savoury seeds …
  • Definately take the time to make up lunch the night before. Make a great salad with grated zucchini and carrot to fill you up and lots of salad greens. Then make a creamy dip like hummus or nut/seed pate and take that too. Voila. For sweets you coul…
  • Get at least one good smoothie a day with everything in it. A good couple of handfuls of greens, some coconut oil or soaked hemp seeds, maca, etc. And do some weights, you need to use your muscles to build them. Greens and fats together generally he…
  • Once raw, your body starts to become natural and will let you know about small mistakes you are making with eating the wrong foods. I have found ayurveda to be very good, if you’re a vata type, blended raw food is going to be much better for you wit…
  • Asofetida or ‘hing’ is useful in creating crackers with red bell peppers, tomato and oregano. The whole thing tastes quite cheesy. I’ve been thinking about this lately too! I would probably make some sushi using a sunflower pate blended with red bel…
  • Gabriel Cousens says that the concept of getting enough calories is not important. When the body is getting enough minerals through greens and other foods on a raw food diet, the body becomes more alkaline. In this relaxed state there is no need to …
  • Well, I’m working on cleansing the liver so it may be linked and agree with the possiblities or parasites. But looking at it, it could be linked to dreams and suchlike. So, yes it’s important to make sure we are getting sufficient nutrition and rest…
  • Victoria Boutenko sells a munchie thing that you chew on. It strenghtens the jaw muscles and help correct misalignment. I really notice the difference. After I use it I feel like someones punched me but it’s just my jaw being put into place. My dent…
  • Wow, sage sound brilliant, I love the herb and I think it would work well. I watched a cooked programme doing hot smoke. Basically he lined a large pan with foil, put in white rice, sugar and darjeeling tea leaves. He then put in a wire rack and sat…
  • Yea, I’m really interested in the cold smoking process. Not sure how you do it. It would be good to do bell peppers and even raw cheese etc. Any ideas?
  • Some constitutions require more salt than others. Some people find it aggravating and don’t need to add it to their diet. Natural sources of salt include seaweeds, vegetables, olives. If you don’t have a desire for it, you probably don’t need it.
  • David Wolfe has mentioned coffee as if it’s ok to put into a smoothie or otherwise. I bet Juilian is using normal stuff too in small amounts. It’s probably no worse than cacao!
