  • Thorne, thank you so much for the website and your posts! For me I try to find vegan wines as I'm now a vegan and would prefer not to consume a wine with animal products. Thorne - do you have any favorite wines from this website? Please do tell :-) …

  • A few decent vegan/organic wines that I like are Frey (the red table wine and their cabernet) and Our Daily Red. Our Daily Red is also very well priced at $8/bottle. Don't let that scare you as it's a lovely ,simple and enjoyable red wine. Frey's ca…

  • Hi SimplyRaw, wow that's great you're doing the MC for 42 days. Geez, I'd be lucky to last 4 days! Well someday if I can ever give up coffee, I think I could go longer. I tried it once and lasted 3 days due to severe caffeine withdrawl headaches....…
  • Hi - my first post mentions that the particular recipe I'm going to make is in the book **Sweet Gratitude**, Cafe Gratitude's second book which focuses on desserts only. It's a very cutting edge raw dessert book. If you're into making really wonderf…
  • Hi Carrie! Oh I've heard nothing but great things about Vanessa's cheesecakes! I was also thinking her white choc strawberry cheesecake would be another great one too. mmmmmm.....black forest sounds sooooo good. Glad it turned out well! Another to a…

  • Hi Bitt! Oh wow that's so cool you're going to a class by Cafe Gratitude!! Please let us know how it went. Was it focused on desserts or entrees (or both)? I just love both their books! Someday I'd love to take another vacation out to San Francisco …
  • You'll love Heathy's dessert book. She's got some lovely creations! Did you see the jelly rolls on her new blog post this morning? She used her cake batter recipe for those. The photos look sooooo yummy! Still not quite sure what I'll make this week…
  • Yeah the spinach juice is a brilliant idea. I don't have a juicer (yet). But I'm guessing I could use my vitmix. I've used beet juice for coloring as well and that works like a charm! Thanks Edamame3!
  • Angie - the cake is going to be photographed so I need it to look pretty ;-). Basically this cheesecake has a mint green cake batter and a dark brown/black chocolate batter. They both get swirled together for a beautiful marble effect. So, that's wh…
  • Kelp noodles are a wonderful sub for the zucchini noodles. My husband does not fancy the 'zoodles' but he just loves the kelp noodles with a nice raw pasta sauce or dressing :-)
  • Hi Dagney Taggart! I always do enjoy reading your posts! I'm guessing this woman saved a boat load of cash by not *purchasing* milk from the store for her children :-D Joyce
  • I just got Cafe Gratitude's new dessert book, Sweet Gratitude (it's soooo awesome btw!!!). Their cake recipes call for 8 cups of almond flour which is almond pulp from nut milk according to their book. Right now I have about 1 cup of almond pulp in …
  • Hi Vegan2raw - thanks for the encouragement! I'm good at following recipes, but I need to start creating my own raw food dishes and desserts. All in good time I suppose. I just updated my blog for some Italian gnocchi and tiramisu I made over the we…

  • I couldn't find the link to the old tread about who had blogs so I started this new one. Hope it's ok to post this here. If anyone can find that old thread with everyone elses' blogs, that would be so great :-)

  • hmmmm, yeah, the jicama had to be strained. I used a strainer but maybe should have used a nut milk bag for better results as mine was watery. Next time I'll use the nut milk bag for the jicama. Thanks!
  • So glad you liked the gnocchi! I thought the sauce was just fantastic! (I did cut down on the salt he calls for). Did you have to use teleflex sheets when dehydrating the gnocchi? I had to use them as the batter was too thin. But it still worked out…
  • ps - I think I must break every food combining rule and law imaginable (hehehe). But for some reason it works with my body. I actually feel the best ever since I started experimenting with gourmet raw food on the weekends. Go raw food go!! :-)
  • Superfood2, The Strawberry Brilliance pie in Sweet Gratitude is really good. It's my husband's favorite dessert so far out of that book. He loves it! The 2 layers make it very pretty too :-) We have our eyes on Everyday Raw's pototato salad too! Loo…
  • I'm going to be making the Mediterranean Tarts from Matthew's new book this weekend. Very excited about it. Especially after Fuzzywater's success with this recipe: Fuzzy wrote: "So for both the mediterranean tarts and the truffles, I cut the recipes…
  • Hi Ddigiacomo, thanks for the kind words. I've had a lot of beginners luck lately. But I still have my moments where I wish I had more experience in the kitchen from the days when I was making cooked vegetarian food. I just love gnocchi too and have…
  • Oh the gnocchi in Matthew's new book was a smash hit. We loved it!! I wrote out all the details on my blog if anyone else wants to make these. They weren't that complicated. The gnocchi batter was rather thin but I was able to work with it. All and …
  • Hi Fuzzywater, glad to hear the med tarts turned out so well. I was thinking that recipe would be a good one for us as well! And you used Lucuma in lieu of the mesquite in the truffles? I like maca and lucuma but haven't tried mesquite yet. I can't …
  • Hi Greenghost! Glad you like the blog :-). We had fun doing a St Patty's day theme. Do let us know how you like the mint chip cheesecake if you make it.
  • Hi Bitt, the tofu scrambler is awesome!!!!! OMG (and the possibilities are endless as I love tofu dishes and tofu scrambles!) We both loved it! I'm so happy that my picky husband was so enthusiastic about it too. It's a brilliant and simple recipe. …
  • Yes, Ani Phyo's scramble is also very good. I made it probably over a year ago when I first got the book. The raw tofu scramble dish in Matthew Kenney's book is the one I'm going to attempt this Saturday. I'll definitely get some photos up on the bl…
