  • I don’t know, but from your pic you don’t look overweight. If you don’t feel good, there may be a reason to change something, but if your goal is health and feeding your body what it needs, and you eat what appeals to you, my experience is that the …

  • Luna – He is here in Utah, and yeah, local is good if you have allergies. It’s funny – before I bought Stan’s honey, I used to get some from Canada, and now I’m recommending Utah honey to a Canadian? heehee :)
  • Okay, I just checked and my friend does have his on the internet now – he is a great beekeeper, loves his bees, has great honey, keeps his bees where people don’t use pesticides, etc. His honey is totally unheated – he even uses a “comb” to uncap th…
  • I just checked the link you gave, and it is the “creamy” honey – they just whip it to make it thick – sorry, it doesn’t look like it’s raw. Most aren’t, so you have to look for the ones that say they are raw.
  • The only way to KNOW is to buy honey that is labeled as “raw” or “unheated” – raw honey will eventually get grainy/thicker, but it is all runny when the bees make it, and how quickly it thickens/solidifies depends on what flowers the bees got the ne…
  • Do you eat/juice a lot of carrots? That’s the only skin change I have seen in raw foodies I know. Otherwise, I wonder if too many greens & not enough seeds, grains, etc. would cause something like that?

  • Along the same line as Winona – Vickie Talmage (in her book “From Bin To Banquet”) says that if we are eating both cooked and raw foods at a meal, that eating the raw food first signals to the body that this meal contains the enzymes needed to diges…

  • I think that the more raw, the better, and the idea of all or nothing is ridiculous to me :D HAHAHA! Like it’s better to never eat fresh fruit & veggies unless you’re never going to touch mustard again?! :) heehee I just think people sometimes g…

  • That’s awesome – both of you! Good to hear the perspective of a parent – I have been trying to teach my son about eating healthy, but even though I buy him whole grain and natural stuff, I don’t want to force him to eat raw, and I want him to be abl…
  • The cartoon was right on! I love that I can and do trade my jewelry for a lot of goods and services. This has always seemed to make the most sense and be the most simple to me. Also, my grandpa always paid cash for cars and everything else he bought…

  • Gabriel Cousens recommends extended juice feasting (green juices, no fruit) and uses spirulina and other stuff to get enough protein and help balance blood sugar. The master cleanse can really mess with blood sugar issues because of the maple syrup.

  • I have both, and I agree that I use the Vita-mix a lot, but I have started using the juicer a lot to make breads – I sprout the wheat and barley, and then process it into dough, and dehydrate – super easy! The other thing about juices made with the …
  • I use the popscicle sticks from the craft store – never died yet :) heehee (I didn’t recommend that, though!) Tiger lily – As for what to make them from, I make smoothies – berries, peaches, whatever, with a little agave to make it slightly sweeter …
  • helen – Welcome! I have done well eating 80 – 100% raw until I get stressed, and this website is what has made me able to be successful the last several months when things got crazy and I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to keep on my path. I also …

  • Oh, yeah, cuts! My mom used to put it on our cuts to help them heal :) I have eaten 5 or 6 leaves at a time before (maybe 1/2 inch wide and 5-7 inches long, each), but I don’t do it very often.

  • The way most antidepressants work is that they build up in your system (that’s why you don’t feel an immediate effect the day you start taking them), so if you miss a dose or two, you won’t feel the effects of missing it right away, either. So missi…

  • almonds, kelp, sesame seeds, carob – and I agree with just telling sources of calcium rather than arguing about dairy. Happy going, and good thinking to educate yourself ahead of time!

  • rachel – haha! :D That’s funny! I agree with them as far as my reaction to the pics in that book. He’s pretty cute with the shorter hair on youtube, though.
  • I just feel really sorry for you all ;) heehee
  • Thanks! Always good to hear reviews of the books out there, especially those I haven’t see in the store and had a chance to check out myself yet :)

  • I agree – live your life! I do what feels best and works for me. Sometimes I get flack from people around me who don’t eat raw, and sometimes it’s from people who do eat raw and think it’s terrible that I use paper plates, or plastic bags, or that I…
  • ardes – the strips will measure the pH of whatever liquid you put them in. If you’re too alkaline, you can back off on the greens &/or the alkaline water and add more nuts, seeds & grains into your diet to help balance your body’s pH.
