  • Not to downplay the heartfelt sincerity of your post, but… (They also said most died when played E.L.O.) HA! I lol’ed. :)
  • Wonderful topic! And very helpful since all I have is an average blender and a tiny tiny food processor. If anyone has ideas for ways to dehydrate, I will be eternally grateful! I’m wondering if I can use the oven…the lowest labelled temp is 250, bu…
  • I had my first taste of maca today…put about a tablespoon in my 16oz green smoothie. I could taste a little hint of the malty bitterness, but nothing that bothered me. The banana and berries evened it out. No energy boost or libido boost yet, althou…

  • I just bought some maca today so what a convenient thread. :) I haven’t tried it yet, I figured I’d put it in my smoothie tomorrow. If it’s malty I actually kinda dig that. I got it from an ethnic foods store and they actually had a chocolate powder…

  • Thank you all so much for all your incredible encouragement! The light and positivity and acceptance you all radiate is awe-inspiring! I was a little afraid I’d be kicked out of the goneraw club for the chicken! I guess I am so anxious fo…
  • I had an ice cream sammich tonight. I totally feel your pain. :S If I actually had any money to go out and buy food, I would’ve bought what I needed and made raw vegan ice cream though! Thanks for the encouraging words, and I hope your smoothie is b…
  • Do alfalfa sprouts really have that much protein? :o I looked it up in my cronometer software and it says 8oz only has 1.3g protein. I’m trying to figure out how to get the amino acids or proteins or what have you, as I’m trying to lose weight so I …
  • What software are you using? The Cronometer software tracks protein and tells you how much of the recommended amount of protein you are getting daily. http://spaz.ca/cronometer/ I’m in love with this thing, it has EVERYTHING I could want on it, exce…
  • I believe with sprouting you only soak overnight, then drain and rinse about twice a day for a couple days. If they’ve been sitting submerged for a week, they may have started to ferment, I’m not sure though.

  • Ohh I love apples and cinnamon! Does it have much of an apple cinnamon taste or does the spinach cancel it out? I’ve never put apples in a smoothie before, I shall have to give it a go!
  • Thank you!!! I just couldn’t believe how good and FILLING it was, not to mention not too bad on the calories (around 270), which I’m trying to keep an eye on as I’m trying to lose weight. I love smoothies and used to make pure fruit ones (no greens/…
  • I just made my first green smoothie today with spinach, and it was great! You just have to use some really sweet, flavourful fruit, like berries. I used about 3 cups spinach, 1 cup water (blend those to liquid first, I think this was really crucial …
  • greenghost-POGUES LOVE! WOOT! Quiora – my fiance loves gothic metal…Mightwish, Lacuna Coil, and Epica are some of his favourites. When we first got together he sent me a bunch of Nightwish songs and gained a real appreciation for a genre I knew next…
  • Queenfluff- YAY GREAT BIG SEA FANS! Teehee.:) I’ve loved them for years, met all the guys quite a few times and actually ended up being good friends with one of their audio engineers through their web board…where I also met my now ex-bf (he’s still …
  • Thank you RawDance! I would love to have a listen to some of the meditation type music you mentioned. I like more world stuff too, especially drumming from Africa and the Middle East. I’m planning on getting a djembe and learning drumming from both …

  • Msraw – my God/dess…6 years old….SIX YEARS OLD…I am in tears. What are we doing to ourselves, and what are we allowing society to do to us, when toddlers are slowly killing themselves over fear of fat. My heart is breaking for your daughter and you.…
  • RawDance- You are wonderful, thank you for sharing here all that you do. I’m hoping the nutrional and spiritual benefits of raw can help me in a similiar way, help form a new relationship with food and my self. I know my compulsive eating is not jus…
  • TheRawDance- thank you! :) I suppose it is very much a form of meditation. Something about fruit that always bring that about in me…there’s a very pure, simple joy in it. Even standing in my kitchen eating blueberries earlier today…I bent down to gi…
  • I am so new to raw, I don’t have a favourite meal yet. But I remember occasions throughout my life where I would feel as if I was having a sort of awakening, a spiritual connecting in eating a simple piece of sweet, juicy fruit…an apple, a strawberr…
  • I’m going to echo harmonylia, especially if even peeing is painful…that could be a sign of a urinary tract infection. Drink some organic 100% cranberry juice, it will help urinary tract issues and clean out your kidneys. While I am just as new as yo…

  • I have never tried collards, but was planning on buying some, as they were sort of like a poor man’s green here in the south, so they are very inexpensive. Glad I read this first! TheRawDance…how did you make your nut parmesan cheese? I would love t…

  • I’m just curious…what exactly is lucama? And maca, as long as I’m asking. I live near a HUGE Mexican grocery/farmer’s market, I’m wondering if I could find it there.
  • Hey Loorin…to be honest I don’t know about the nutrition training for veterinary doctors. I’, by no means a doc, I was a receptionist that occasionally assisted the vet technicians and tried to absorb as much medical info as I could. I can’t imagine…
