  • I use collards and lettuce (Romaine or green leaf) for wraps. I also marinade greens (kale, collard, chard, & spinach) in apple cider vinegar (2 TBS or so) and olive oil (about 4 TBS) with a bit of salt and some herbs like dill or basil. If you …
  • I suggest Sergei and Valya Boutenko’s book called “Eating without Heating.” The recipes use mainly easy-to-get ingredients and are simple and fairly cheap to make. Second, a book full of many different types of recipes, mostly good ones, “The Comple…

  • Yup, thats what happens with detox. The raw food drags the plaque from your colon. When you do a focussed colon cleanse the stuff that comes out can be really gross! Look at this (warning, graphic poo pictures) http://www.blessedherbs.com/?sp=intern…

  • Just be careful that they are not near where they might be sprayed. For example, if on campus, they are near a sidewalk that might be sprayed for weeds or something. I live on a university and they spray for things around here all the time.

  • This is really interesting. Does anybody have fresh produce all year around? I mean farmer’s market or your own garden produce. I have become so sad about our food supply. I live in central pennsylvania and our farmer’s markets are long gone by now …

  • Funny stories. Regarding the fish, I met some raw folks in seattle who feed their outdoor fish raw food. They eat raw veggies and are healthy and big. The fish were sick at one point and they tried raw food because, well it heals us, so why not. Als…
  • Definitely worth it to get a super-blender. I have a L’Equip blender and the nice thing is that it has adjustable speed. I can turn a knob and make it go as fast or slow as I need. Also, the metal lining on the bottom of the blade apparatus was chip…

  • Yes, I thank you as well. I have seen other raw sites where zealous fanatics judge and flame others. Not good. I love how you can search for text in the recipes. In my raw books, I have to flip through them to see if there is anything I can make wit…
  • A few summers ago I grew lacinto kale in central PA. It is really hardy and survives in hot humid weather and into the fall frosts. It is really good if you pick it in the morning.
  • I tried soaked flax, ground in the blender today. I did my baking soda paste, then acv rinse first. Then I spread the flax mixture on my hair and face. I rinsed, it made a mess. Now the flax flakes are still in my hair, and all over the house! My ha…
  • queenfluff, thanks for the flax info. I am going to try it!
  • Greg X999 It can take a few weeks to stabilize. I have been no poo for about 2 years now. In the winter I might get some flakys after a week or so of cleaning with baking soda paste (water and baking soda) and apple cider vinegar. If I clean my hair…
  • I stopped washing my hair, I think, either last spring or the spring before. Anyway, it took about three months for things to balance. Sometimes I use shampoo if I am on the road in a hotel, or I might let the hairdresser use it, depending on whethe…
