  • Hi Mikfizzle. Can you tolerate sunflower seeds? They make a creamy replacement to nuts. Remember to soak them first.

  • I like zucchini pasta made with pesto (garlic, basil, pine nuts, olive oil and lemon). However I had no pine nuts or basil in the house yesterday so I made a creamy ranch with hemp seeds plus some fresh tarragon, olive oil, lemon, water and a little…

  • Thx JB, I love orange-carrot the best. Against my better judgement, I have decided to do the MC instead. I'm on day 4 - feeling great but I have a carpet growing on my tongue - ewww. No appetite but my sense of smell is weird. Everyone smells of rot…
  • Wichten, do you have a recommendation for a typical 3 days of juicing? I'm interested to give it a try. I can't imagine going as long as you, but if you can give me a good starting point I will certainly give it my best shot.
  • Almonds! Loaded with vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, zinc and more besides.

  • I use the saladacco. It is quick to use and very easy to clean, but does not have all of the fancy options that some of the complex ones have. There are two settings and these are fine for everyday use. I use mine just about every day. You might fin…

  • I feel for you - it is truly ghastly when this happens. What works for me in these situations is to eat small slices of apple slowly - don't wolf it down! Apple does settle the stomach and if you are feeling like you are going to vomit - it helps th…
  • Only so you can rinse off any residue. I forgot to say that if you want a wet scrub, try salt or sugar mixed with olive oil on your legs in the shower.
  • I dry skin brush as I have the same problem as you, especially in the winter. Start with the soles of the feet and work up through the body in upward, long strokes (upward towards the heart). On the chest area brush towards the heart, not the nipple…
  • I agree with the other guys, it sounds like you are eating alot of fat. Cut out the coconut butter and nut butters for few days and see how you feel. You don't say what the raw cereal is but if it is grain based, try giving that up as well for a few…
  • Thank you. So generous and such beautiful photography. Can't wait to try.
  • If you have some coconut butter and agave, mix the pulp with both and make pie bases which you can freeze until you need and fill with your favourite fruit filling. I put cling film in the bottom of my pie case before I put the 'pastry' in so it com…
  • Try reducing the fat right down and increasing the fruit intake for a few days and see how you feel. I'm not an 811'er, but sometimes sticking just to fruit and veg (in large quantities so you dont feel hungry) might help to put you back on track. P…
  • Green smoothies and lots and lots of fruit. It will help you to lose the craving for salt, which I guess there is alot of in frozen dinners. Don't get hungry or you will slip. Lots of people on this site eat a ton of bananas - they help alot. Good l…
  • Daniefon, very funny! I'll use that line next time. Brilliant.
  • Does anyone struggle with co-workers who are continually obsessed with what you eat, and who feel free to express an opinion on it? I try not to talk too much about my food choices, because to be honest, I hate the attention. I'm just fed up of peop…

  • I had a quick Google and vit C and green tea came up alot if this helps?
  • Mangoes, papayas, pineapples etc. All of the tropicals give good energy. Some raw fooders eat masses of bananas. I agree also about the green smoothies. They do help to sustain when mixed with fruit.
  • Welcome. Try eating more sweet whole fruits, not dried. Bananas are great.
  • Your quantities seem more reasonable than the book - the amounts suggested seem quite ridiculous to me. I'm sort of toying with the idea of giving it a go - I have been transitioning for the last 3 days by dropping off high amounts of nuts and dehyd…
  • Here is my source for chia seeds. I don't work for them, just a regular customer. http://www.vivapure.co.uk/ On the subject of coconuts, in the UK, here is a link for young green coconuts. Expensive, but for those who are keen......http://www.coconu…

  • I agree with Winona, I cant be bothered with the soaking and then drying routine - life is too short. I work on the basis if they are raw cashews they are good. I do soak as a bonus if I have the time.
  • I think alfalfa had a bad rap in the past due to shop bought ones containing salmonella. I love them but have to admit they have made me sick before. Positive and negative viewpoints can be found here. http://www.saferfoods.co.nz/alfalfa.shtml http:…

  • What a fab thread! When sprouting this week, I put more thought into 'prep'. Overnight soaking and only 2 days for sprouting gave sweet sprouts but I did lots of rinsing. I agree completely about the no bean hummus - it sooo delicious, here are the …
