  • Probably the change in diet. It makes mine last a shorter time, and makes it practically painless. Some folks have said that their periods have ceased altogether on raw, but they are surely in the minority.
  • I’m sorry guys. While I really believe the stuff in this email is correct, it didn’t come from Johns Hopkins. This is an email that has been circulating since 2004, and Hopkins denies that it comes from them: http://www.hopkinskimmelcancercenter.org…
  • This is the one I have: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?produ… It supposedly has 800 watts. It won’t blend things smooth like a vitamix, but I use a wire strainer to remove the pulp. I have to be a tad aggressive with the strainer, tapping…
  • I bruised easily before raw, so nothing new here. Couldn’t be vitamin K deficiency, could it? I keep thinking that the greens take care of that, because of all the K in them. But I may be talking out my hat. I read somewhere years ago that if you ru…
  • I’m sorry, not a juice feaster (yet) so don’t have any advice to give you. But let me say, you are freekin’ awesome! I’ve been trying to get my butt in gear to do a juice feast, and it will happen one day. 67 days…don’t know what to say about that e…
  • Hey waterbaby! You had everybody worried there for a bit. Hope you’re doing better. :-)
  • I think it’s common. Happened to me, and I’ve heard of it happening to many women. Gives the single person a new appreciation for sleazy internet fiction, and alone time. You know what else? I think el-bo cited an article in another thread that says…
  • A running jump? LOL!
  • I just sleep on the wood floor, on an old comforter. Any flame retardants or formaldehyde that may have been on/in it at one time has surely been washed away in the 6 years that I’ve had it. Worked wonders on my back. Maybe there is an inflatable ma…
  • You want a masticating or auger-type juicer for juicing greens. They’re kind of slow and have a skinny schute, but it’s the kind that you need for greens. Me and my friend both have the same kind of juicer, the Omega 8003 and the Omega 8005 (basical…
  • I just watched an Alice Cooper video. Does that count?
  • Ditto what greenghost said. At first I was worried you might get some negative comments here, this forum being raw vegan and all. Was going to try to warn you about it, but decided to set back and watch instead. Very nice to see that you didn’t get …
  • Right. But Dad is left.
  • My Mom stopped needing deodorant after maybe 6 weeks on 100% raw vegan diet. Alas, she’s SAD again. But she’s got her Right Guard and her Left Guard on. After being consistently 100% raw for a couple of weeks, my underarms don’t get nearly as funky …
  • Alix… I mo gitcha! jk, babe. CYEM
  • Not sure what you mean by ‘something or the other’, but when I said our faith, I was indeed saying that I’m a Christian. And there is a wonderful book by Ayn Rand called ‘Atlas Shrugged’. It has a very inspiring character in it called Dagny Taggart.…
  • I agree with Elizabeth. There are better forums for this kind of discussion. And to imply that she or I or anyone else here believes that our spiritual state is of less importance than our health and raw food because we think this discussion would b…
  • Like you, I had only three. The upper two came in a bit on the brittle side. (This was 18 years ago, mind you, and I was still SAD.) Didn’t take long for them develop cavities and start crumbling. They had even had infections a few times, and I neve…
  • The oat grass I grow, so it’s free. But the collards I buy. Plus, there is a significant difference in taste. Brother, the Lord’s love and peace to you. But have you ever tasted oat grass juice? Oh, dear. It’s horrid! I have tried to deny this reali…
  • Hey, bitt. :-) Yeah. No good. I think they have an entry for wheat grass juice (jamba juice?), but nothing for oat grass juice. I reckon folks would say that they are comparable in nutrient content, but I’m not so sure about that myself. The jamba j…
  • I reckon it was the latter. Just remember, if you start wanting a cigarette, toss the incense! LOL
  • A short while ago, I went through a period of a month where I burned one or two sticks of nag champa (the classic in the blue box from Shrinivas Sugandhalaya) every night. The way it made me feel physically is the same way that I felt right after I …
  • Oranges and bananas in my diet are always non-organic. Watermelon is supposed to be good for kidney cleanse. You need to eat a lot of it, though: http://curezone.com/cleanse/kidney/default.asp Heyenglish, thanks for posting that link. The info is go…
  • Potato plants are nightshades, and the leaves are considered poisonous for humans to eat. However, sweet potato plants are not in the same family, and I found out last night that the leaves are typically sold in many asian countries for people to ea…
  • Bump. C’mon, someone here must’ve...
  • I’m personally not worried about parasites. You will have them regardless, it seems to me. If I can, I intend to do 2 two week cleanses each year, where I have only carrot and pineapple juice, mixed with a juiced garlic, and taking walnut hull and c…
  • My understanding is that it eventually reduces (and sometimes eliminates altogether) pain caused by inflammation. I know my periods are not painful at all if I am 100% raw for more than a month. But I know a few folks with pain from nerve damage (pe…
  • This is a really good site for you: http://www.freedomyou.com It is Christian based, and chock full of both water fasting and juice fasting info. :-)
  • ...awkward silence…
  • If it isn’t growing in cow shit, I won’t touch it.
